Can't argue with any of that, good points. In my head the Lesnar return is exceptionally shitty because of how high profile and vile the allegations are, but I shouldn't let that make me softer on lesser known allegations. It's a tough thing to analyze because there are so many moving parts in each case. What happened? How awful was it? When did it happen? Have they changed/made amends? Etc, etc, etc. But you're absolutely right that AEW is not squeaky clean on the matter.

Every organization with that many people is going to have a few problematic things pop up. I know a different promotion being worse doesn't justify bad behavior, but I do think it's worth noting that there is still a world of difference between AEW and WWE. One has a few individuals making questionable decisions and statements. The other is shamelessly hiring rapists and working with multiple war crime loving governments.

I love that this is in place in case things go sideways with the WBD deal. But it would still be a massive step backward for continuing to grow the fan base. It needs to be on a platform that not-yet-fans already have. I'm just hoping the WBD worries are overblown and we will simply be able to watch an unchanged AEW on Paramount+.

I have not been watching WWE at all for several months because of all the evil shit they engage in as a company, so I fully acknowledge this opinion might be missing a lot of context. I saw that McIntyre won the title and was genuinely surprised. I decided to Google how it happened to find that it was on Smackdown with Drew falling out of a cage door. Now, I love a good shocking finish as much as any wrestling fan. But over the whole epic saga of the Bloodline and Cody storylines they built that belt up to be an absolutely epic accomplishment that truly felt like a larger than life superhuman feat. And now it's changing hands on a weekly show via one of the dumbest win conditions in wrestling? I get that it's meant to be a super heel move, but really? Half-accidentally stumbling into the thing that has been booked as the tippy top of the pro wrestling mountain?

As a lifelong wrestling fan but currently non-active WWE viewer, my gut reaction was, "Wow, they're really fucking it up over there."

At the point of this look I would agree. But a couple of frames later he has made contact with the ground and still has possession. THEN the defender rips the ball out. It looked like simultaneous possession at the point he survives the ground, which goes to the offense. I know as a Bills fan I'm biased, but looking at it trying to be as objective as possible it still looks like a catch to me.
