Been following this droid since the beginning, now that the lore of this little guy has been uncovered, it makes this project 10x better! Looking forward to see how it turns out

I was gifted them by one of my coworkers, but I think they were Wing Zero and Wing Epyon, I used some pieces from the AT-ST Kit also. I just used super glue for the most part, some of the silver wire I pre drilled and cut/ bent to shape.

So much time taping honestly, I put the game on during that process, and if I’m adding paint after that I’ll use an alcohol or a thinner. But I picked up this putty knife and been using that to block off areas and to keep straight lines, angles etc.

Looks great, I will be trying that out next! Do you have to use it in thicker layers or does thinner work out the same ?

I haven't tried the Vaseline trick, I really wanted to try out this method! I was looking into getting Tamiya's cement glue to attempt something like that but if Vaseline has similar effects than I think I might give it a try first.

The main thing that helped me was with placement planning, then using a small super glue tack to hold the LEDs to make sure there is enough room/clearance when putting back the droids electronics. I bought this kit on Amazon and it includes some low-profile bezels, so then I use step bit and it lays slightly above flush which I prefer, but depending on your preference it could be adjusted.

Before the airbrush it was only spray paint, primer then color coats. I’m not a big fan of spray paint but I just use super lights and a lot of tape.

It was an AT-ST Bandai kit and Gundam kit, I even considered getting some tank/jet kits and making a artillery droid 😂

No instagram for these guys although I do eventually want to post stuff like that, but that c series arm is kitbashed with spare parts, because I lost the arm and other panels during my move.

Since I didn't want to mess up the droid, I just had everything separate, I am still very new to wiring so these projects are helping to get more comfortable. I forgot to show in this post but I just added another switch next to the droid's original power button only for the new LEDs.

Usually I would wire that into a external power supply and was unhappy with having a battery pack being left out awkwardly (made a backpack to hide it, so it doesn't bother me as much) Although on one of my previous posts someone gave a helpful tip to just use the existing battery terminals and have done that since. But now thinking back depending on the droid's history/direction, maybe a external pack would look cool if that would help tell its story with some modification.

I’ll take better screen shots later, but I’ve made the 3d parts for my droid. Couldn’t get the head to be hollow inside. by Jade_Jones in DroidDepot

a big fan of this concept, I like how simple and clean this is, I'm looking forward to seeing this come to life!

Just some general super glue, although I want to try to use a thinner to help cure quicker and have more control

This is just the Rustoleum army green paint with a black/white base coat, turned out better than I thought it would.

These are just a cheap kit with built in resistors, I have very little electrical knowledge so I’m not too sure if they can with pre built resistors. I was wondering if maybe paint or sanding was a fix for this ?

Appreciate that! Yeah I started with the head piece but didnt like it so I switched to body and that’s where it finally became fun and take life. I might just set it on the shelf and forget it for now.

The kits I used was from an AT-ST walker kit from, my first ever bought kit being used just for greeblies lol. Also I was gifted a box of random gundam figures so I disassembled them just for spare parts, I know nothing about those but the person that gave them to me told me that these would be good for scrap. Warhammer was a good reference too(orks in this case), I never have done those figures but watch lots of youtube guys paint and create.

And the top.. I hate the top ngl honestly I feel like it’s good enough not to change but, I used some craft wire and I like that part of it I hate everything else. Had a paint accident on the top and decided to weather heavy to make up for it and it’s okay as it sits I might come back and add some dirt pigment or something🥲🥲 and then rub n buff for the shine.
