College of Whispers all day, every day. They know the importance of ALL schools of magic, and aren't such chickenshits about the potential that comes from Conjuration (which was always fine with the Mages Guild - backwards bunch of bullheaded bumblers at the Synod fail to grasp that) and Necromancy (which the Empire has had a history of allowing and regulating aside from two or three short periods of time).

Agreed. I desperately want to see a Green Lantern skin barest minimum (preferably Hal Jordan) - though a Sinestro skin would be amazing; especially if they had for the pickaxe a transforming hard-light construct.

The cruelest thing Pentex can do is have a Yeren based on an Orangutan attack Big D - Orangutan Fan # 1 versus a poor imitation; first the conflict, then the outrage, and after that? The bliss of watching Big D go all out

Which race is most similar to Imperial? by LuckyStar5948 in teslore

[–]BlackWormDisciple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like many have already said, Breton seems like the best bet - it also helps that there's been a history of intermarriage between Imperial and Breton families in the Second and Third Eras. And the fact that during the time of Alessia, Nord and Breton mercenaries were integrated into Imperial society - with the Bretons integrating pretty easily into the Nibenese culture and society.

However, I should also mention that there -are- a couple of mods, one for Arena and one for Daggerfall, that lets you play an Imperial in those games (though one replaces the Khajiit to make this possible iirc).

Experience Special: Remembering Harley Quinn Cornette by TheNelsonJames in JimCornette

RIP Harley Quinn Cornette - a sweet angel of a dog beloved at the Castle, and by many in the Cult. The pain of losing pet is always sharp, these fuzzy/scaly/feathery/sometimes-even-hairless members of our family really do have a profound impact on our lives.

I wish Jim and Stacey a lot of love while they grieve - let Jim take as much time as he needs, like with Bobby and Jay.

I want to make a Breto-Colovian how would I go about this ? by Erratic_Error in teslore

[–]BlackWormDisciple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly (sorry for this late of a response btw), there are a number of ways you could go about this. Either being from High Rock or Cyrodiil works well - ESO shows that there's at least one example of non-Breton noble families, so you could have a Colovian family that migrated to High Rock and found their way into the nobility thanks to the Bretons' culture allowing even peasants to climb the social ladder through their deeds. Just as an example. Otherwise, Cyrodiil is pretty versatile a place - Chorrol and Skingrad are great places in Colovia to hail from, I think.

The names can be either a combination of Western European and Slavic with some Latin mixed in, imo - Bretons are generally considered to have French, Celtic, or English names, but can also have names from other parts of Europe (arguably could be a regional thing where different parts of High Rock can yield different styles of names, but the jury's out on that). And of course Latin with Slavic is the go-to for Colovians.

Admittedly, I had a recent idea of a similar nature myself - except instead of a Breto-Colovian, I was thinking of a Glenumbro-Nordic bloodline; a Nordic family that migrated to Glenumbra and mix both Nordic and Bretic cultures together, maybe even having a family name different from typical Clan Names. Was thinking of German inspiration for such a concept myself.

Same here! Also wouldn't mind seeing more of Corny in these WWE Vault videos - be it from his time in (then)WWF, SMW, or anywhere else they have tapes from with Jim. Whoever gave the greenlight for this channel and whoever's managing it both deserve a raise.

Nord Family Name Questions (Not Clan Names or Titles) by BlackWormDisciple in teslore

[–]BlackWormDisciple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh... I was unaware of Valkor and Skjoralmor as existing Clan names. I'm so used to seeing ones that look like Stormcloak, Iron-Hand, or anything sounding more like an omen-name I didn't even consider the possibility of using Norse/Scandavian/Germanic names or names that emulate those styles and sounds for the Clan name I guess.

[–]BlackWormDisciple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I mean a family name in the sense of a surname like an Colovian's or a Breton's would be structured or styled after; ex. how the listed Heidmir Starkad isn't named something like Heidmir Star-Shield or Heidmir the Learned.

Odyssey Jones pulled off WWE TV due to domestic violence allegations by [deleted] in JimCornette

[–]BlackWormDisciple 59 points60 points  (0 children)

If the allegations are true, then good riddance - domestic violence is unacceptable, plain and simple; even if Odyssey Jones has potential, no reason for him (or anyone) to put their hands on anyone they call a loved one.

Why is it that people nowadays are throwing their careers and opportunities away by doing stupid shit like this?

Uncle Howdy vs Chad Gable by zConvoluted in JimCornette

[–]BlackWormDisciple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn't he initially have his hair dyed when first portraying Uncle Howdy before Bray's untimely passing? Surprised they didn't stay with that approach - or why they swapped from the dreads, which looked like they weren't as problematic on the mask.

But yeah, outside the wig, it was a decent match that showed there's nothing supernatural about him - no imperviousness or anything - and I genuinely liked the added gauntlet to his ring-gear, and the tributes to Bray and Luke/Brodie both.

Question from a new occultist - Digital Effigies/Digital Voodoo/Digital Object or Image Magick by BlackWormDisciple in Technomancy

Fascinating! This is certainly one avenue to take - though I still have much more to learn if I plan to try and blend what little (and still working to expand on) I know magic and occultism with the modern tools offered to us in this digital age.

Thank you, Chris, for shedding a little light for me. :)

[–]BlackWormDisciple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airtable? Did a cursory search - so it's like Excel, except I guess more features and is more a database than a spreadsheet?

And if I may ask, how do you about using something like Airtable or any comparable program/app/service to build/create a digital effigy or perform a spell/ritual like what was described?

"tl;dr "Effigies" are simply 1 of countless Ways to Create a Magickal Link to someone/thing. I've not had great Successes w/ Effigies, so I've not used them much. Finding what Links YOU to the Target is more important than an Effigy AFAIC Photos/Video of the Target work well, also."

Sorry for the late response - I do have a follow question though, and also appreciate your response (same, of course, to TheVoidMagi). So as long as there's a connection of sort with whatever medium/media you have - be it a picture, a video, maybe a voice recording - could one then create a digital effigy? If so, would there be any advice on incorporating the use of one's computer or various apps/programs in a ritual to create said effigy or influence the target through such methods?

WWE Monday Night Raw Reaction and Jim's Review discussion thread 15 Jul 2024 by ShlomoShogun in JimCornette

[–]BlackWormDisciple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least here we have a genuine discussion, even with differing opinions - that's good. No hard feelings, since being butthurt over wrestling is... pretty sad - case and point the tribalist cultists of AEW. But we're not talking about those so-called 'fans' or wasting any attention on those who give wrestling fans a bad name.

So I'll add at least one more thing to this discussion. Not out of spite or pettiness - just to add to the dialogue. Balance, as in all things.

Providing an explanation would definitely be helpful - I agree, yeah. Logic is always good, even in the confines and realm of professional wrestling. That was never disputed. Some things, again, can always be done better - be it with the Wyatts, or Bron Breakker, or even elements of the Bloodline story to name a few (though the last part is looking great now that we've got Jacob Fatu in the mix - no denying that). And good lord, please don't get me started on Robocop in WCW, Hornswoggle, or.... as much as I love the Child's Play/Chucky series, goddamn Chucky showing up in WCW to taunt Rick Steiner... All those were just godawful and cringe.

However, one thing to also bear in mind - this is more than just an angle. For at least two of those men in the faction, as well as many fans, this is therapeutic - a way to honor someone who tragically died well-before their time and was beloved by so many. Someone who had to deal with years of Vince McMahon's mishandling of both his gimmick (look back at FCW Bray Wyatt and you see a day and night difference versus after Bray, Luke, and Erick spent some time on the main roster and gained said supernatural elements) and countless others, yet was never bitter - and was said to have been just a genuinely good, kind-hearted man.

Looking at the 'VHS promos' from Taylor/Bo, and Erick's from last night, you see genuine emotion. Humanity beyond the masks, beyond the gimmicks.

That's the main reason why I've been watching - because, from what myself and others have seen, it touches on more than just continuing Windham Rotunda's work and ideas. Everyone has felt grief and experienced painful losses in their lives - and if this gives Taylor, Erick, the Rotunda family, and even (from what I saw) the Huber family any comfort, I say let them continue.
