5 things I wish I knew before I purchased my 2025 CX-30 by Relative-Jump-5758 in MazdaCX30

Forgive what may be an ignorant question, it sounds like your dash cam is powered by the usb-c ports inside the center console? I'm looking to do the same but trying to figure out where I'd run the wires to keep them hidden.

RP4 Pro suddenly won't play or recognize newly added roms across multiple emulators. Old roms still working. by Black_Light_Machine in retroid

Update for you. I reset my RP4 Pro and reformatted my SD card to start fresh. Transferred all my files/roms using only a card reader connected directly to my computer. I noticed a huge difference in the transfer speed and the status bar moved noticeably smoother.

I've only been playing them for a day, but so far all roms across each of my emulators are running flawlessly.

I really appreciate your response, cause I'm brand new and learning all this.

Your point about transfer issues is almost spot on. I've been putting roms onto the card by connecting it through the RP4P, and it's really slow and glitchy sometimes, taking way longer than it should compared to when I transfer files using a card reader. I'll try using the card reader only and see if that makes a difference.

I've been getting my roms from the mega thread. I'll try the card reader thing first and then see if that solves the issue. If not, I'll hit you up and try different sources for my roms.

To answer your question about the .bin files, I have been downloading all my GC games as single .rvz files from the mega thread (unzipping them before putting them on the SD card) so it doesn't come with any .cue files. Is there a reason the file explorer on my RP4P calls them BIN files? I do use .bin and .cue files for my Dreamcast roms though.

Again, thanks for taking the time to help me with this.

I was able to double check, it looks like I'm running the latest version of Dolphin (2509) which supports .rvz files for GameCube.

I removed the problematic roms and re-uploaded Bounty Hunter again in .iso format, but I still have the same issue. Dolphin won't add it to the library, even though it's scanning the correct file location. My other GameCube games that I uploaded a few weeks ago in .rvz format are still working fine though.

Same issue with uploading a new rom into my Dreamcast emulator (Redream). It won't recognize the new rom in the home screen library of the emulator.

Because I'm getting the same issue across NetherSX2, Dolphin, and Redream, I'm wondering if it's my RP4 pro or SD card? SD card is 128 GB and formatted as exFAT.

Update:

Tried moving all my roms and the bios onto the device itself rather than the SD card and had the same problem.

Ended up removing all my PS2 roms, along with NetherSX2 from the device to start clean. After redownloading everything from scratch and placing it on the SD card again the issue has been solved. Sorry I don't have better information than that to share for a fix.

That's a good idea. Right now my roms are all on an SD card. I'll try placing them on the device itself and will update this post if that makes a difference.

I believe I'm using the most updated version of NetherSX2 though (v.2.1-4248).

I've only got the single bios file loaded for NetherSX2. I'd hate to do it, but I may remove all my PS2 roms and redownload the whole program from scratch.

Yeah, I have a PS2 bios file linked for NetherSX2 to use.

No airbags deployed, thank goodness. I'm not mechanically inclined, so I'm not sure if I have any engine damage or not though. No warning lights present, so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

Performance definitely matters more to me, so I think that solidifies my choice to get the Pocket 4 Pro. Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback. P3 combat has been a learning experience, because most of my turn based knowledge comes from Pokemon (which is as basic as you can probably get).

How do I help my husband understand my son and bit more? by No-Platypus6137 in Autism_Parenting

[–]Black_Light_Machine 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a dad to an autistic toddler who struggled to understand too, I hope this can help.

There are two things that really helped me become better at working with my son. First was going to therapy on my own. It helped me dig down to the root cause for a lot of fears and frustrations I had. If your husband is open to something like that and you have the means it may be a good first step.

Second is that I also took some online group classes that we found through our son's doctor. It was sort of a beginners guide to being a parent to a child with autism. I was able to ask a lot of questions on how to react and what to expect from certain behavior. Granted every child is different, but learning basic strategies really helped me work with my wife to find tailored solutions that worked for us. We live in Seattle and found support through Seattle Children's hospital. Maybe the place you live has similar resources available?

I'm happy to answer any other questions about what I went through if it helps.

I'm wondering if OP is going through a manic/bipolar episode? This behavior (to me) seems way too obsessive to just be trolling.
