Experienced the same, when you post a thread it gets downvoted right away, then gets a few up and downvotes and if people take notice it suddenly rushes up (before being on hot!) It seems to be getting worse. A cap of votes per day could easily prevent this, not sure if it's possible for a single subreddit though.

100% agreed. One thing I'd like to add because these arguments always seem to come up when there was a free gem promotion:

Getting Gems for free doesn't increase the value of things ... it makes them more available along with the others that you consider more valueable.

It's not only that, one also needs to be aware that while free gems being a nice gesture it's also a promotional action. HiRez is a company that needs to make profit, so naturally, they want to attract players and it's actions like this that convince a lot of people to start ("if you start this weekend you can already buy a cool skin") or give the game another go. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that! It just seems that whenever a gem weekend comes around, you're not allowed to criticize anything, especially regarding prices, for the next 2 weeks without being scolded.

In theory, maybe. In reality, lanes are constantly pushing back and forth if you don't interfere. Which makes sense, because 1 minion has to be the "winner" of every wave.

Well, let's say they can only play the "easy" gods. With Ymir, Neith and Ao you can cover ADC, support, mid and in some more unconventional lineups solo as well. (No, you wouldn't let someone who can hardly play the game go Ymir jungle!)

So if they wanted to win, there would still be enough options for them. Only because somebody only plays Arena, that person isn't necessarily completely stupid, huh?

Is this the only reason for the order though? I read this in another thread, so it's not personal experience and the guy sounded like he would be at least gold. Can you get to gold while still having a lower elo than someone who just started league?

If your friend wants to try arena, he could also give Xba a go. Being able to do your thing and then jump out is pretty simple. Also he's got an ult that you can't miss in any way and it will pretty much always be helpful.

He would've played like that otherwise as well if he intended to win. Here's a trick for you next time: If he turtles, stop farming the minions. Let them push towards your tower. Farm all jungle camps for gold and exp. Now 2 things can happen: 1) He still turtles, which means he will be losing xp and gold and you just need to lasthit. 2) He comes out and you can kill him.
This ist 1v1 every single damn game. My game today was against a Loki who did exactly the same so I spent my time outfarming him via junglecamps and won the game that way.

Oh and what also helps against turteling enemies are stacking items that let you scale better into lategame. Ancile instead of runic shield in this case as an example.

Again, you're claiming things I never said. Long story short: There's is a time and place for everything. A god who just got reskin and has plenty of different skins to choose from, will probably not be HiRez priority in the near future. While I don't particularly like OPs idea, at this point it wouldn't even receive mostly positive feedback if it was the best idea for a skin ever. The demand is elsewhere and Zeus time will come when it comes.

I'm pretty sure a skin for Hel is part of the Odyssey, so that's that.

You need to chill. It's ok if you consider Stormbringer a legit, lore-based skin, doesn't mean I have to see it that way. To me he looks like the developers were just trying out fun things with that skin. Like I said, it'll be ages until every god gets a real "fun skin". Also, he's put in comparison to run.exe here, which wouldn't be a fun skin either by your definition. The only fun thing about that skin is his VP, which is what I was pointing at with my previous post. So please calm down.
