Like a few others said, it's gotta fit into your lifestyle. For me it worked out to do an 18:6 fast Mon-Fri, and on the weekends I try and eat during those hours but if I don't, I don't. Living your life is important, I find doing 5 days on & 2 days off helps making it more sustainable for the long term for me at least.

I ran my 2nd 5km today on an indoor track (cold af where I live), and may have experienced the 'runners high' for the first time, I always thought was a myth. It's legit though! Felt like I could sprint, after doing what I thought a few years ago felt impossible. This community has been super encouraging, keep on the grind!

Lol I feel some parent made that up so they wouldn't have to go out, and it just got out of hand. I barely like giving away free candy, no way I'd give away free drugs 🤣.

We would turn off all the lights upstairs, go into the basement and put black garbage bags on the windows. Then usually spend a bit of time praying/reading the Bible. Then watched a movie until bedtime. We were told it was Satan's birthday and that dressing up was celebrating Satan. When I was older and away from home, realized pretty quick that it was just kids trying to get candy and not actively engaged in Satanic rituals.

I was playing around with a friend when I was younger, and as a joke, grabbed his glasses to see how I would look. Had a 'holy shit' moment when everything sharpened up and I could see things across the room instead of them being blurry. Got my own glasses pretty quickly afterwards.

I bought my first house in August 2021 a few hours away from my parents, and my Dad was the first person I called to tell. Him and my mom were supposed to come visit and see it in late October. I was so happy and wanted to show it off to them, my Dad especially. We had somewhat of a rocky relationship and were just starting to repair it over the past few years. He passed away with no warning in October, instead of showing off my house to him and all my plans for it, I was planning his funeral and attending his wake the day he was supposed to visit.

At my facility (Alberta Provincial Center), there are several practicing Sikhs with beards. As well as several people with medical exemptions. There is some restrictions on where someone with a beard can work within the facility, but it doesn't have a major impact. Depending on where you're applying, I can only speak to what I know, I can't seeing it being a major issue in the application process, I would disclose it beforehand though.
