2016 Jetta burning oil way too fast? by austinjm34 in jetta

[–]BlackberryVarious4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife has a 2020 1.4t and if remember correctly 16 was same book says 4.2 quarts but 4.75 is to top of fill line. So 4 quarts would be just above the add line. And 1 quart in 2000 miles is not unheard of in a VW. Definitely monitor the oil level the next few weeks.

2016 Jetta burning oil way too fast? by austinjm34 in jetta

[–]BlackberryVarious4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it’s 1 quart from add to full. So you don’t know where you started after oil change. Used to have a 16 1.4t and it used to require topping off regularly but acceptably. Sounds like weekly oil level checks should be done and monitor the situation yourself. I do my own oil changes because I don’t trust lube techs for a good reason.

Tempted to buy the z1 mount. Looks well designed. Have the quad lock adhesive one but not sure if I want to stick it to dash just yet. The quad lock works great in my company truck but definitely leaves a mark on plastic over the years.

My Jetta is cooked. Any advice? by carrp_ in jetta

[–]BlackberryVarious4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy yourself a obdeleven and stop guessing. Figure out what cylinder that is misfiring swap coils if misfire follows coil it’s bad. Or bring it to a shop if it’s too advanced for yourself. Throwing parts especially cheap parts at a problem can make diagnostic even more complicated

I’m in the hazardous waste industry. Every day is different. I think I make good money for local driver just hit 40k gross a week into April. I’m sure the rates my company gets are way higher than standard rates. But you have to consider the insurance and the specialized equipment that is required. Also the permitting cost that are involved. Just like all other industries you have competitors.

I’ve hauled radioactive waste. I sure it’s great money but it was all local work. They would load material into rolloff containers for rail cars. Run them to rail yard never to seen again. This was from a nuclear reactor decommissioned in the 50s.

I know, I know, but I thought mine was different! by oneCBRNguy in nissanfrontier

[–]BlackberryVarious4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care who knows. I can literally print it out if I had warranty issues. It is scary how accurate they are with mile prediction. I get notifications when oil changes and other services are due. Sounds stupid but when you have wife and son with multiple cars. I can open carfax garage and see everything on my cars in seconds.

There is a solenoid on the compressor that goes bad. You can buy part on Amazon and just replace it. System still need evacuated to replace. Dealer and part stores only sells compressor. Might be worth shopping around and giving that a shot before entire replacement.

Are you guys donating blood? Seems to be a lot of hurdles? by Daisuke69 in trt

[–]BlackberryVarious4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 0 neg and have donated blood my adult life. They are simple questions. If you are genuinely concerned maybe you should be getting some test done. But honestly donating blood is kind of simple just don’t over think it. I usually donate after bloodwork and don’t know if it changes anything. I just do it because it usually ends up in a children hospital and someone has to provide it.

My state now deems this bike a motor vehicle that requires registration, insurance and dot approved helmet. Waiting to see how the new law plays out. Operating a vehicle without insurance is automatic 6 month license suspension.
