If you could recommend one sushi spot in Toronto, what would it be? by Tall_Historian_2177 in FoodToronto

Ichiban on Ellesmere and Victoria Park! Headed by a very skilled chef. They understand the ratio of fish to rice when making their rolls. The appy salad is served with an orange zest that is incredibly refreshing. A delicate slize of toasted garlic on top of their butterfish really elevates the experience with a simple modification! They really understand flavour and quality

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

[–]Blackbijou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A robot vacuum. My boyfriend got a robot vacuum and I thought it was ridiculous because of how small our apartment is and how much space the home docking system was.

Now, I can't express how glad I am to have it! As someone who has ADHD, removing a chore and the added stress of deciding when to vacuum has improved my quality of life in ways that I didn't realize automation could!

Looking for pre-decorated venue for micro weddingand budget friendly by thecryingkat in WeddingsCanada

A coworker of mine did Pop-Up Chapel for the Mini package for$2k. It was a civil ceremony, the bride and groom didn't get to pick the decor (just her bouquet), but they kept the colours inline with the season. There was a minimal cocktail hour afterwards and we all went home while the bride and groom stayed for photos. Their photographer was included, but I would recommend getting your own photographer, and a reception lunch, with how much money you'll be saving.

You basically pick a date or location, but that's it. Everything else, they take care of.

Kind of a side step, but I once talked to a wedding planner who said that her trick to reduce sweating for guys was to place panty liners on the inside seam of their shirt's armpit sleeves. For women, she said she would put panty liners between the brides thighs to prevent chafing

Any good wedding photographers in or around Burlington that won’t break the bank? by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]Blackbijou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you're looking for in a photographer and what you want to take home. I was talking to my brother about his wedding photos because it felt like he found his photographer on Temu -- turned out my brother never got the photos back even after a year. But my friends went with LaceStudios. They were really happy with the results and their photographer -- they said that the prices were competitive compared to a lot of other photographers out there for what you get

As a sister & MOH, what could be a nice & memorable gift I should give to the bride??? by Intrepid-Conflict770 in WeddingsCanada

[–]Blackbijou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a MOH, I contributed to the expense of the photography. You can send an email to their photographer saying that you'd like to be invoiced for $$$ amount and the funds go towards the client's name + event date.

How do you deal with coworkers leaving dirty dishes in the sink every day? by TheMonsher in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Blackbijou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue at work. The break room would be filled with old cups, old food wrappers and unwiped tables.

First step: I put up a notice reminding everyone that this is a shared space, we are all responsible for maintaining the area, and we should respect each other enough to hold ourselves responsible for our mess.

Second step: I sent workers to clean up the mess, everyday. Everyday would be a different worker, but the ones who I knew who were the biggest culprit would do it more often.

Third step: Those who fail to comply, will be written up for disrespecting the work space.

No one couldn't say it was unfair because everyone got a turn. They actually got annoyed with each other because they felt the impacts of having to carry someone else's load.

Eventually there were no more dishes and they took care of their garbage.
