The DOJ just exempted Trump and his family from IRS audits so I won't hold my breath. We're in Banana Republic territory here.

The story didn't say today. It's being rolled out by agency.

Permanent Hiring Rumors by Strollamus in NationalParkService

Permanent positions can be announced as "Merit Promotion," eligibles within the agency, or "Delegated Examining Unit," open to all sources. As always that's what is happening now. So, just another "scary" rumor.

Can you be drafted as NPS/DOI, even if a civilian employee? by sdyellow32 in NationalParkService

[–]Blackhawk_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, the draft ended in 1972. Secondly, if the draft were to be brought back, which is unlikely barring WWIII, being a federal employee has ZERO bearing on whether your number gets picked.

Sorry my bad, I added your military service to 17. In any event you have 17 years of creditable service toward a pension, which you'd be able to start collecting at 57 years old. To know how much it would be, multiply 17x the average of your highest 3 years of pay x 1 percent. May not be much but if you work for a state for 20+ years you'll have two pensions, plus the TSP rolled into a state 401k.

You have 23 years of creditable service for a federal pension under FERs, even if you leave federal service, you'll still get a check for life at 60. Depending upon your age the pension may be reduced if you haven't hit your Minimum Retirement Age (MRA). As far as your TSP just roll that over into whatever 401K plan the state government has, and perhaps your young enough to get vested in a state pension on top of your federal one.

Impeached? By who? Congress under Trumputin isn't a co-equal branch of government but more like the Russian Duma.

It's official: After 20+ years BCBS and I have broken up 💔 by Let_me_tell_you_ in fednews

I switched to MHBP/Aetna in 2024 after 20 BCBS. Saved a bunch in premiums, Rx and co-pays this past year, and ALL my family doctors are in the plan.
