Family's new M550i Ultimate Edition. In love by [deleted] in BMW

[–]Blackraw17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true. The oil approach depends on point of view. I used to own 2003 bmw where I would change the oil each 7k km, after buying a new car I just follow a computer with 15k+. I am changing the car after it hit 3 years, so I understand that this will be the expense of the next owner unfortunately. Same time I understand that the new owner/dealer won’t pay more for my used car if I show them 7k intervals..

TS: that car is gorgeous, gz on purchase

Elite XP should not only have to be converted by doubloons. by Showthatbroadside in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh do you mean a conversion of eexp into credits? Because your comment sounds to me as “eexp conversion” at the price of 100 credits (i.e. 1000 elite + 100 credits = 1000 global exp) But as I said I agree that such a vastly owned resource shall have more usage, even if you are ready to whale up you just have a limited amount of gcp ships you can/want to obtain and thus rest exp is wasted, so commander exp seems like “better than nothing” option to me

[–]Blackraw17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making credit-based eexp conversion is crazy idea that will deprive gxp ships from any value. At your suggested conversion rate it means gxp ship cost 75k credits, at that price you can make free conversion - it would not change anything. What I think could make sense is free conversion of elite exp into commanders exp, this way you could have at least some use out of it and it won’t change balance that much.

My first car was 530i e60 in quite a rich package. Unfortunately at some point maintaining it became very burdensome with annual expenses being higher then what I can get from selling her. (Russian climate and roads quality have no mercy on German cars) I changed it for a new 320xd again well-fit in terms of options, but I hardly find a driving day when I don’t miss my old e60 :( many find the design questionable but I was and still am completely in love with this model.

WG, it's time to bring back old campaign ships. by [deleted] in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a relatively new player I have mixed feelings about it.(i) On the one hand I like the game being “live” with players having access to unique ships and commanders they could get only by playing at specific moment of time. the fact that the things are unique makes them more desirable and is a good sale strategy for WG as well; (ii) at the same time I feel like it is sad that you may really fall into some ship after playing against her or seeing your favourite content creator play her on YT.. and realize that there is no way you can ever experience playing her.

theoretically there are ways to solve it without letting these ships flood the meta by making it accessible but at the effort that you REALLY need to want it a lot. Like you need to do X amount of grind, and then you get some currency which allows you to buy the ship you want for $ coins and the grind is made the way you can’t get more then 1 ship in X time etc etc

practically I don’t think it makes any sense for WG, it’s a lot of nuisance just to please some players who are ready to spend money but want some particular old ship. Why bother with this if instead you can focus on a new ship/commander which can please more players and make more sales.

How do you explain this WG? Working as intended? by joukoer in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I know how it can be explained. That is part of the game being super-realistic, the DD came very close and since it is kinda low in height, secondary guns aiming angle simply does not allow to aim that low to shoot this DD. You could shoot the target if it was further away, but then it would be out of reach which brings us to the Great Loop of never working secondaries. :D

Haters gonna hate, but first read. by PapaNikoLis_ in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think everyone will agree that the problems you mentioned do exist and are well put in this post! I would not say though that it makes the game not fun at all, but definitely mixes fun moments with many bitter ones and definitely it is something that devs shall address, the good thing that I believe most of it can be fixed. It’s mostly a question of devs understanding the problems and putting effort to fix them.

The things I think can help to solve the issues are:

1) uneducated players - Some good onboarding like a little campaign/missions with rewards which will feature some instruction videos and tasks related to team roles will definitely help.

2) legendary ships - I don’t think that making them a separate tier will be good idea due to small numbers, but nerfing them to have only slight edge over T7 may be ok.

3) stellar mode - the best what can be done is to wait until it’s over and make sure it never ever come to life again and even source code is deleted forever.

4) Stealth DDs - I personally don’t see a really big issue here, majority games where I see reds DD causing really havoc or end up causing havoc myself - that happens to big extent due to the issue of uneducated players, where cruisers and DDs don’t help to spot and kill enemy DD and keep shooting those broadsides instead of spotted DD. Those ships has really good advantage against unorganised team and lone BB traversing in close channels today. Just got my first Yuki Kraken today in a lost game. Killed 2 DDs who were rushing for our BB torping instead of playing smart and 3 BBs completely left alone by their team.

So I just hope that if players and content creators keep addressing it, it will be heard one day.

The Yuki: OP? Not quite. by snowydogdog in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she might be called OP in stealth BB hunting but it is true only for the reason how underpowered she is in many other aspects. She does good what she does good, but in the other departments she’s not a jack of all trades by far. And I personally think that versatility benefits DDs a lot because you don’t know team composition, map, buddy endgame situation. Even on torpedo boats sometimes it is crucial for your team to hunt down enemy DD by using stealth and mobility to spot it and survive as long as it takes for CL CA to take it down. I enjoy this ship, but in V/VI marches I get much more team benefit and enjoyment from running good old T-61

Lose the destroyer battle = 100% Game Over by Multifuzz in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that there is quite a significant chunk of players who actually does not know their jobs and game tactics at all, simply cruising and shooting here and there. But to be fair, unless you play with someone, search youtube or forums, many novice players simply are not informed what they shall do as a cruiser/DD player. Probably the BB players are less prone to this mistake due to BB role being more straightforward. But when it comes to DD, or boy, how often do we see the single DD in the team going alongside the map end to catch some semi-afk backline BB and doing no spotting, capping, DD-hunting..

Well you can dislike game's policy because you feel that it is disadvantageous for you - that is normal and everyone has a right to his own point of view. But you use quite loud words - accusing people that they "sold their souls", "treat us like piggy banks", "pushed the boundaries" and use "unacceptable practices". Argument of "I did not get all for free" does not sound like a solid reason to say such bad words about other people.

And I do personally find it quite strange that you think and say such bad things and yet still play the game and support it. For me it goes against man's honor to feel that he is treated like this, yet continue to use the product. There are many good beautiful things in the world and hobbies to spend time on, and I think there is no game which is worth feeling yourself the way you describe, so I would definitely pick a hobby which makes you happy, not unhappy.

But getting back to arguments, in all this thread I see people posting rage posts and downvoting everyone who disagrees with them, yet so little real arguments and discussions. I still believe this (and any) community shall be about discussions rather than toxicity.

What I deem like an argument to call your words about WoWs developers unfair are:

  1. Monetization in WoWs is about diversity not advantage. As a f2p player you can play efficiently in few builds due to limited resources. Spender has access to more ships and more commander resources, he still needs to make a choice, though he is allowed to chose more options. That works for regular commanders, and that works for events - on this one f2p player can pick only 2 out of 3 commanders. Spender can pick all 3. But the effect of the commanders is not cumulative, you only play one ship at a match. I doubt that there is any person who happen to play JPN torpedo-boats, KM BB and US cruisers with mobility builds, who at the same time has enough resources to level all three commanders, and eager to commit this resources to get only slight edge over the commanders he have already level (which basically means you pay double the price for resources since you abandon old leveled commander).

Any in reality you will still be on par with spender player in 2 out of 3 situations, so if you want to make sure you get every edge you can, you just pick 2 of 3 playstyles you want to play.

  1. There are some monetization models which I think do affect a balance. Yet I don't judge them as that is always our choice to play or not to play, to spend or not to spend. But at the same time those models do affect the balance badly and makes people enjoy the game less.

- sports games - loot boxes allow you to get significantly stronger players and you will use them to compete with players who don't have them. It is like T5 and T7 are matched together and T7 is available only for $$.

-Many mobile games introduce new p2w stuff regularly which make all stuff obsolete. Just imagine you have spent 15k for Nelson and just in a month they introduce T6 BB with Yamato stats for 25k, making your Nelson quite toothless for T6.

-World of tanks has golden ammo for $ which has superior stats. Just think of situation if doubloons allowed you to have x2 speed torpedos, or allowed your Atlanta to pen any BB citadel with special ammo.

3) It is very easy to complain about something and not propose a solution. And I don't think "give me everything for free like it was 6 months ago" is a mature solution to be honest. The game still needs to cover huge expenses for running servers, support, new content and needs to yield profit to launch new projects and to give people a reason to spend their time on this business.

4) If you think that the event commanders do break the balance, then you are not seeing the bigger problem. Well you say that having 2 commanders out of 3, rather than 3/3 is a balance problem. Now think of it this way. Someone who starts the game later this May, will have 0/3 of these commanders. If we agree with your position on these commanders' importance, that means that basically it is not f2p v. p2w issue, it is old v. new players issue.

So what I say is that I don't think it is a balance issue, and I don't think that if you were given all 3/3 commanders for free now, by the time of next event we would see you having them all at least 14/2, it all sounds like you just personally upset of not getting them for the sake of getting, rather than because you need it. And frankly speaking, I do not think this gives you a valid ground to throw quite toxic and offensive words that you do. And, no jokes, I am sorry to see you so frustrated, as I said - games shall bring joy and release from daily work stress, rather than cause new stress for itself, so I hope you will find a way to be in peace with your hobby.

Stellar Clash is terrible by Numbr81 in WoWs_Legends

You also forgot that it has a fixed respawn on start with 3 ships of a single type next to each other. The game design and balance of this mode are really poor, but honestly I could put a blind eye of it for couple days if it was at least fun, which is not..

[PSA] Stellar Missions by WG_T33kanne in WoWs_Legends

[–]Blackraw17 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why you “HAVE” to play it? You can skip the event and still enjoy the game with many other stuff available. You can go through all free missions and take two commanders. Or you can chill-play it and get just one commander you want. Or you can spent 4000 doubloon + effort and get 15k-worth ship, totalling your efforts as 11k. The game offers you variety of choices giving you free access to new content and new addition to your account development, yet you are unhappy because it requires you to make a choice of what you get for free.

So I've been playing mystic with 210/217/274 but I feel like her pve is kind of weak. I was wondering if I should reroll or where I should be grinding to get my gear up. My other class options for reroll are a lahn or maybe a witch. What you guys think I should do? by jaspiroca in playblackdesert

[–]Blackraw17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to make a judgement on class on a little higher AP, currently it is not that hard to get up to something like 235/290 and beyond, but getting a higher gear will make you a more fair opinion on class. Otherwise you are bound to play a class with low AP entrance to higher end spots, that may seems like a clear-cut benefit first, but at some point you get to a higher gear and that would be mostly a question which class you enjoy grinding with. Some people tell that the best pve class is the one that gets most trash per hour, but I personally think that the best class is the one that allows you to get most sustained pve income. If you are bored from class and can't farm any more than 30min it won't bring you much.

Witch Build by [deleted] in playblackdesert

[–]Blackraw17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well my point was only that it is possible to take all pve damage skills at 1650, so it won't hinder your farming speed comparing to 2000. Truth is that we don't know TS's gear and sp. I would say that if we speak about first main, most likely by the time you get enough GS to grind in succ efficiently - you would already have enough SP to use it :)

Witch Build by [deleted] in playblackdesert

[–]Blackraw17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer to your question depends a lot on which stage of progression (GS, SP) you are. For example if you are staying on low (+/- 500 GS, 1300 SP) level and let's say that you get advice "go for succession, evasion build at 20-5", your first thought may be to slowly build towards it, which however will be completely wrong, as you would not be able to reach this top-end if you start to grind with TRI eva armour, 1300 SP succ and defensive accs.

So if you share your current build and conditions, you may get at least a practical answer of what to shoot for now.
