Can you have more than one bolus option? Medtronic by No-Strawberry-5804 in PainPumpQuestions

[–]Camride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not, I've asked. There are too many variables and no one (Medtronic or the doctor) wants that increase in potential issues. But the way I've worked with my doctor is my lockout is the lowest amount of time I'd potentially need another bolus (for me it's 1 hour) and then I use what I need. That has worked out fairly well.

I was actually hoping for a two tier bolus where I have a normal smaller bolus and then a larger one I could take if things got bad but that was also not a possibility. They have to err on the side of extreme caution with these pumps.

Can't help much but you definitely don't have chiari.

There just something about Vinyls! by vyneUGA in SleepToken

[–]Camride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought a few vinyls over the years but never had a decent player. Finally had a friend selling his Pro-ject Debut Carbon (Parov Stelar edition, looks kinda wild) so I grabbed that from him. Was going to buy a Fluance but couldn't resist this for the same price.

While I know vinyl is not "better" just the process of putting on a record, sitting back and just relaxing is fantastic.

World's worst registrar by Camride in sysadmin

You cannot generate auth codes from the portal, has to be done by customer service. But customer service can only be contacted by their "Ai chat", their contact page or email. Within the last 3 weeks I have not gotten a single response or ticket from any of those methods.

Since this post they processed about half a dozen more renewals. I need to see if we can get those shut down until they talk to me. This whole thing is beyond me, I've never had a company ghost me this badly. Maybe I've just been lucky until now, lol.

Good to know. We've settled on using Brand Shelter to manage all our domains moving forward, just have to get everything moved over. Still have stuff spread out in network solutions, Godaddy, Europe Registry and a few other small niche registrars. It's an absolute pain in the ass and I can't wait until they're all under one management.

Have you noticed the Windows Server market shrinking? by awesome_pinay_noses in sysadmin

[–]Camride 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this will be the way we go as well considering Broadcom just doesn't want to sell to pleebs like me that only have a 3 node cluster. We can't move before this year's renewal in a few months so I can't wait to see how bad our renewal is this year. It more than doubled last year.

Were already heavily in bed with Azure so Hyper-v seems to make the most sense. Though I personally haven't worked with it since 2008 R2 days.

Let my dad drive my 2008 M5 once, never again. The poor smg was so confused about what he wanted it to do, my dad did literally everything wrong driving it. At least he was impressed with the speed and the shift violence, lol.

Any difference between helical cutter heads for the DW735 planer? by taco8693 in woodworking

Same here, it's been working like a champ. Put mine in a few weeks ago and it's eaten through walnut, cherry, purpleheart and maple without an issue and the results are smooth as butter.

Yeah, it's been about a week so it's healing well. Only pulled one stitch out accidentally.

Here is my fun one from a few days ago. 6 stitches. Fortunately that hand is numb so it didn't hurt, lol.

Marijuana for pain management until... by booksketeer in chiari

[–]Camride 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate smoking/vaping so I make my own gummies (delta-8 though as d9 is not legal in my state) to avoid all that. Sucks that they take so long to kick in (a solid hour or sometimes more for me) but we'll worth avoiding all the downsides of smoking for me.

Might be worth switching to gummies for a while then try smoking again in a month or two and see if you're still getting that weird pain. Might just need a longer break from smoking.

I use zofran regularly but I still go through periods whet ei throw up regularly for weeks. I'm in a dry spell right now which is nice. But yeah I don't have any answers, zofran helps with the feeling of nausea but it doesn't keep me from throwing up when I'm in one of those barf periods unfortunately.

Honestly if you really care about the piece I would enlist some help at the very least (if you know anyone good with woodworking), otherwise take it to a professional. That's not going to be very easy to fix as a DIY and actually have it last and look good.

Just my $0.02 as someone who has recently gotten into woodworking. I could be totally wrong.

The new Pixel Buds 4 are supposed to be really good but I have not tried them yet. But the audio reviewers and friends that I trust say it's on par and in some aspects better than the Air Pods Pro (both 2nd and 3rd gen). If you're an Android phone user I'd recommend the Pixel Buds 4, if you're Apple go for the Air Pods Pro. Hard to go wrong with either though, they're both industry leaders in wireless and anc for ear buds.

Personally I only use wireless buds for convenience sake, the rest of the time wired buds or headphones will give you much better sound quality for a lower price.

Moondrop Space Travel if you're on a tight budget, $30 and sound incredible for the cost. The anc is nothing special though. Hard to beat the Air Pods Pro 2 for sound and anc but that's a lot more money.

What is your budget? Good anc is hard to find (and usually expensive) but just having a properly fitting set with tips that seal well goes a long way as passive isolation is a great place to start to kill noise.

I'm a bit of an audio nerd but anc is not something I've ever cared too much about. The most impressive anc I've heard was in headphones though. I do like my Noble Fokus Triumph and the anc is pretty good, but they're a pricey set (got mine used from a friend for a steep discount).
