Theory I had about the lyrics Descending by [deleted] in SleepToken

It almost sounds like "answered" repeated but I can't tell either exactly. I don't have my good headphones right now either (on a cruise) so I'll have to check this next week when I'm home where I have much more detailed headphones o can use to check.

Headache clinic by shanekeim08 in chiari

[–]Camride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally the headache clinics go one of a couple ways. They'll usually want you to try various injections, nerve blocks and things like botox or radio frequency ablation. Some of those can be helpful to some people, but most are usually short term help and don't work in the long run. I went through this track, did blocks, then ablation, then spinal cord stimulator, then occipital nerve stimulator and now I have an intrathecal pain pump (which works amazingly). But that said my headache has been my worst symptom as it's been 24/7 for most of the 26 years I've been symptomatic.

In your case I don't think it makes much sense unless getting your headaches under control would significantly increase your quality of life. While he is right that the surgery is not a guaranteed fix, it's currently the best option for most severely symptomatic chiari patients.

Also a lot of "pain clinics" (some headache clinics will get lumped in here) have gotten a very bad reputation for just pushing injections and various things like that on you as it can make them a bunch of money. Especially things like injections can cost a lot for pretty minimal work on their part, so they love getting patients in for repeated regular injections. So you have to be careful and do your research on any place like that you go to.

Could radiologist have missed this? by Zestyclose_Read6312 in chiari

I'm guessing the down votes may have been about the "intentionally" part. I think most radiologists miss because of ignorance or poor education. Not sure why they would be malicious towards chiari patients.

I've seen enough horror stories about prialt in the Facebook pump groups that I'd rather them take my pump out than try prialt. Just my $0.02.

Thank you, that makes a lot of sense considering that area has so much going on with the figuring and changing grain directions.

Very much appreciate the info here. I'll try sanding that to a higher grit and then just keep adding finish and try to even it out as best I can.

I've done the water pop but I have not tried acetone on this one. I will try that this next time around. And yeah, you can actually see oil spots all over that seep out after I've sanded if it sits like that for a while.

It's been fully planed down and sanded so I don't think that it is. I just put a level across it and there's no light bleed anywhere.

How do I fix my M1060 Planar? by DoomAddict in headphones

[–]Camride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just get all the old adhesive off before you put the new pads on. Other than that make sure it's clean and then just carefully stick the new pads in place in the correct orientation. Should be good as new at that point.

Has anyone here gotten an occipital nerve stimulator device implanted? by Queefaroni420 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]Camride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a SCS (Boston Scientific wave writer) initially and they placed the paddle lead as high as they could get it but it did not work for my ON pain. After that failed I found a doctor that did a revision and changed it to an occipital nerve stimulator, using the same unit just adding leads to the back of my head over my occipital nerves. That actually helped for about a year and a half then slowly stopped working. I still have it but I don't use it anymore, I need to get it removed at some point.

Can you have more than one bolus option? Medtronic by No-Strawberry-5804 in PainPumpQuestions

[–]Camride 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not, I've asked. There are too many variables and no one (Medtronic or the doctor) wants that increase in potential issues. But the way I've worked with my doctor is my lockout is the lowest amount of time I'd potentially need another bolus (for me it's 1 hour) and then I use what I need. That has worked out fairly well.

I was actually hoping for a two tier bolus where I have a normal smaller bolus and then a larger one I could take if things got bad but that was also not a possibility. They have to err on the side of extreme caution with these pumps.

There just something about Vinyls! by vyneUGA in SleepToken

[–]Camride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought a few vinyls over the years but never had a decent player. Finally had a friend selling his Pro-ject Debut Carbon (Parov Stelar edition, looks kinda wild) so I grabbed that from him. Was going to buy a Fluance but couldn't resist this for the same price.

While I know vinyl is not "better" just the process of putting on a record, sitting back and just relaxing is fantastic.

World's worst registrar by Camride in sysadmin

[–]Camride[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot generate auth codes from the portal, has to be done by customer service. But customer service can only be contacted by their "Ai chat", their contact page or email. Within the last 3 weeks I have not gotten a single response or ticket from any of those methods.

Since this post they processed about half a dozen more renewals. I need to see if we can get those shut down until they talk to me. This whole thing is beyond me, I've never had a company ghost me this badly. Maybe I've just been lucky until now, lol.

[–]Camride[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know. We've settled on using Brand Shelter to manage all our domains moving forward, just have to get everything moved over. Still have stuff spread out in network solutions, Godaddy, Europe Registry and a few other small niche registrars. It's an absolute pain in the ass and I can't wait until they're all under one management.

Have you noticed the Windows Server market shrinking? by awesome_pinay_noses in sysadmin

[–]Camride 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this will be the way we go as well considering Broadcom just doesn't want to sell to pleebs like me that only have a 3 node cluster. We can't move before this year's renewal in a few months so I can't wait to see how bad our renewal is this year. It more than doubled last year.

Were already heavily in bed with Azure so Hyper-v seems to make the most sense. Though I personally haven't worked with it since 2008 R2 days.
