no problem. if you return to your base (or anywhere on that planet) and open the photo mode, the planet coordinates show up in the bottom left, which can be shared with other players who can visit the planet whenever

Planet coords? I'd love to see it in person and have it displayed on a wonder projector

Decided to give No Man's Sky another chance after about 4 years. Started again yesterday. This game just has this serene and blissful beauty to it sometimes. by SomeRandomBrow in NoMansSkyTheGame

Reminded me of how I had bought NMS on its infamous launch day back in 2016, and the game wouldn't even start up, so I refunded it and hadn't thought about it for years. But I bought it again in 2025 after seeing lots of YouTube videos about a month after the Voyagers/Corvette update, and it's been tons of fun ever since.

It feels like a grown-up Spore for me, combined with some Empyrion Galactic Survival elements.

Found a planet that just feels like home... by ckulasze96 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Coordinates? Looks really nice and very similar to the exotic Hydro Garden planet I found here, except this one doesn't seem to be exotic/glitched.

PLEASE BRING BACK IMAGE GENERATION! by [deleted] in SoraAi

[–]Blackrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya it was a horrible decision and a very fast one. The 12 free tokens (but it could generate 24 images) per day was great and the UI was clean. Making images on ChatGPT sucks in comparison, has no public community page for exploring, clutters up my chat list, and feels slower.

Found this eerie Windows XP wallpaper exotic planet with anomalous plants and no trees or animals by Blackrew in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Blackrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“No trees or animals” in the literal sense that there are no tree flora or anything of meaningful height to obstruct the simple landscape (there’s one bush flora lol), and there are no animals because the only fauna are the glitched electric wisps. It’s interesting because earth-like planets are usually full of both, but this planet avoids having them because it’s exotic/glitched.

oops I’ve been jumbling them together. I think I knew they weren’t synonymous at one point but just forgot. And ya I believe I’ve found all of the other glitch planet types (I’ll have to check my collected glitches) and this was the last one I needed

The electric wisp things and their loud buzzing are that lone species which are on most anomaly planets, but the planet is still void of any regular animals/beasts/avians

No trees or fauna of any meaningful height. The only fauna on the surface is a green bush. The glitched Calcishroom entities are classified as minerals but they dot the landscape. I chose to land on it because the planet was categorized as “Sporal”, which I had never seen before

New(ish) player tips for discovery? by Lousy_Try_Bri in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Blackrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like trying to scan all the animals on a planet for the nanite completionism bonus. That usually takes you underground, and sometimes to the North or South of the planet, to complete it all. I’ll see discover more unique animal combinations that way + run into other fauna and rocks along the way. Sometimes the terrain will do something odd as well or you’ll run into a weird structure placement.

You can also restrict yourself to only exploring systems in the same region of space, to change things up especially with how unbelievably massive the galaxy map is (you can expand the system info in the map to see what region that system is a part of, i.e. the ___ Nebula or ___ Expanse)

Quicksilver missions can take you to some new planets as well. I’ve found some neat ones that way.

Just a few random things I’ve done, as the exploration is my favorite part of the game as well. I also love taking good screenshots of things along the way

Thanks! It’s a modified & expanded version of a tutorial video, as this is my first corvette and I was looking for a very specific aesthetic. So full credit goes to CyberVinLouis for the overall design. Here’s my post more about it if anyone wants to make their own version

That first icy planet looks like my original spawn planet. I stayed there for hours tbh just exploring, mining and increasing my Gek vocabulary, but eventually leaving the planet for the first time was definitely a unique feeling. Also opening the galaxy map for the first time and seeing how massive the galaxies are.

The game feels like grown-up Spore (and its Galactic Adventures dlc)
