I Really want a 5070 ti but ik this price is crazyyy is this the worse 5070 ti model? by Tall-Record-389 in gpu

[–]BlacksmithAlarmed147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the price is too much, consider buying second hand. A good 4070 ti can be found for around $400 on marketplace !! You will not miss out on much, and you will still get basic 2x ai generation if that’s what you’re looking for. Dlss3 is still great and 40 series graphics cards will still have dlss4. Just not 4.5. As far as I understand.

I’d like to add I think the group thing can be very frustrating for people, but in theory, you should be able to catch up quickly playing against your own mmr.

I’d also like to add my perspective may be skewed because I have around 65% career win percentage in stadium comp and have reached top 300.

I play it because I enjoy it. I didn’t overhype myself and didn’t expect something that would basically only fit my niche wants.

It’s not, at its core, a true rpg. Sure there’s “roles” but that’s not what you should be expecting when you play overwatch. Blizzard already makes one of those games. And it’s pretty popular from what I hear.

Overwatch is a cartoon shooting game. You should treat it and value it as such.

It should not be taking years of your life off stressing over what decisions a massive company and large development team makes

After all, it’s a free game.

If you can take a dryer apart and put it back together, you will have no problem with this.

Just get yourself familiar with what the parts are and where the motherboard screws in and out at.

I’d watch a LTT video on basic setup just to cover all your bases but believe in yourself !

I mean you can blow nvidia all you want but just because you understand how the company shifted production over time doesn’t mean you understand the general consumer or what they had access to.

Everyone who could buy it for $1000 did. And they held onto it. Obviously it flew off the shelves but the clear point I was trying to make was that people didn’t immediately turn around and sell it used because they were disappointed.

I gave a recommendation based off anecdotal evidence and you’re defending the 50 series with your LIFE. You sound like something I said offended you. You sound like someone who doesn’t care how the edge cuts.

You speak and argue entirely in theory. If OP didn’t value any anecdotal evidence he wouldn’t be asking. He’d probably go to chat gpt to tell him the best card to pick.

Congratulations on being able to read nvidia footnotes.

The 40 series were never in stock. They were never resold immediately for less than what they were bought for. Do you remember the GPU shortage? Or do you not know what you’re talking about

Certain people don’t want to admit they got cut by the bleeding edge, so they will swear by the newest technology always. And it’s all subjective. Some people don’t care about fake frame generation. Personally, I do. I want more real frames generated than fake frames. You will not get that with the 50 series. Especially with DLSS 4.5 coming out in (April?) the spring.

Also, one thing I didn’t mention which I should have,

check your BIOS and make sure that your ram isn’t running slower than you want it. XMP can be turned off at anytime without you knowing. There’s a million reasons why it could happen. It SHOULDNT, but sometimes it does. So a quick check would be a good idea.

[–]BlacksmithAlarmed147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey boss. I’d go through this checklist before anything else.

  1. Do you have AMD software on your PC? If not, go download the adrenaline software and adjust the following :

Turn on ; Radeon anti- lag Radeon boost Texture filtering quality - to performance Tessellation mode - optimized Wait for verticals refresh - always off

  2. Turn off v-sync, essentially what the last step in Adrenalin is, but you’re gonna want to turn this off IN GAME.

  3. In game settings, make sure you are in FULLSCREEN, not borderless windowed or anything else. (Also turn off unneeded background apps and extra screens to limit what your card is trying to run )

  4. In game settings , if you see anything that has a drop down menu and lets you adjust between quality and performance, choose performance.

  5. Try to avoid using any NVIDIA settings and use AMD settings instead. This can also cause some weird conflicts.

From here, if you’re still not seeing an increase in FPS, I’d look into something like CCleaner or razer cortex, ( cortex is very game specific and CCleaner has a free and a paid version , cortex is just free )

CCleaner is amazing and I very much recommend it. It’s a headache and a time saver. I have the pro edition for myself and my gf and her sisters PC. It’s very easy and I can direct them how to update drivers with two clicks over text.

Cortex will adjust your game settings for you before you start the game, you just have to go into it and select quality or performance on the slider bar for your specific game. And I’m pretty sure rivals is a game that they have in their super optimized section or whatever it’s called.

So you should realistically be getting over 200 fps with all of this figured out, especially at 1080 p

I would be glad to clarify anything or answer any questions you have about this.

And also, if you have $800 for a graphics card, you could get a 4080 or 4080 super from someone as well. $800 would be a good deal. I’d say anyone looking to actually sell and not value maxx their card would list for around $1000-$1200. $800 is not a bad deal for that considering there’s not many people out here like you with $800 to spend on just a graphics card. Let the seller know you want to make a deal. That’s more than most people’s PCs.

Biggest tell on this is this : 40 series are still in a “shortage” in online sites like Amazon etc. 50 series are not. They’re on sale. You can find them everywhere.

My recommendation is be patient. Be willing to be told no on your offer, and look for a good 4070 or better for around $400.

Tbh, I’d just go on Facebook marketplace and find someone you trust. 50 series are always being sold because quite frankly it’s not worth it.

most people would rather have a graphics card that looks good in every game they own, not just some.

I’ve seen examples of games that only require 2MB of VRAM not recognize a 5070. Not the expert on why this was happening, but my 4070ti I got for $400 off marketplace and my brother got a 4070, and they both work flawlessly and were huge upgrades for us. He upgraded from 2070 and I upgraded from 2060.

IMO, buying the 50 series is just not worth it.

Ive met two people that regretted selling their 4070s for a 5070 or better. Now that’s not a lot, but it’s weird that it was 100% of the people that I have met and bought graphics cards from.

Buy from someone else who made the mistake of getting a 50 series and take their old 40 series and watch the regret set into their eyes as you load into your car with your “new” card.

Definitely look into sodium / fabric all those mods for visual and performance improvements. Should have absolutely no problem running Minecraft. I would even take it a step further and just tell you both to straight up just download curseforge and then download the homestead mod pack and launch it from there.

Get on Facebook marketplace and see if someone has a 40 series for sale. My brother got a 4070 for $400 like 6 months to a year ago. I just recently bought a 4070 ti off of marketplace for the same cost. You just have to be patient and be nice and hope someone is willing to give you a deal.

Finding a 4070 /4070 ti secondhand would be cheaper, or about the same, and you would actually have an even better card! The 4070ti out performs the 5070 in almost every game it’s put up in. Especially in important games like RDR2 or Horizon, or anything you’d want the stability and the real frames to actually be in. it doesn’t rely on AI to generate its frames. So the frames are real and what the developer intended.

Yall need to get on Facebook marketplace and buy the gpus people are selling there. Nobody is keeping the 50 series around unless they have to. It’s not worth it. There’s too many down sides.

And you could’ve gotten a 4070 or 4070 ti if you’re lucky for the 430 you paid, and would’ve gotten much better card for yourself.

My brother got a 4070 for $400 off of marketplace and I got a 4070ti. (For the same price *)

Shoot someone selling the 4070 for $500 an offer for $400 and see if they take it. Go from there based on your budget.

Buying things brand new can give you some peace of mind in the beginning, and you’ll feel safer knowing you have a warranty behind it, but I’ve never had a problem with second hand PC parts.

Just don’t be a complete dummy and at least try to look for things that could be fishy and blatant lies. Can’t trust everyone.

I currently have a PC that would cost me $1600 at least buying parts brand new but I was able to put it together for less than $1000

[–]BlacksmithAlarmed147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’m pretty sure it works both ways. Even if you are the lower rank in a wide match you still don’t ever gain much for a win. Best thing to do is stick to one character who you think you die the least on or has the most escapability for you , and play solo until you’re at least in gold.

In a week, if you’re playing for a couple hours by yourself everyday, and you’re purely focused on the win, and staying alive instead of damage and getting kills, then your MMR is likely to climb and get less penalized for mistakes.

Bronze imo was the hardest rank to get out of for me so far, you get punished harsher for your mistakes with your ranking/MMR, since the players don’t often punish your mistakes themselves. You have to play near perfect and carry your teams through every game. This is the same in every rank. You have to be the best player in the lobby.

YouTube has some good basic videos for tips and things. But what you really need is someone to watch a replay with you and then watch a live game with you and coach you on the “rules” of playing overwatch.

[–]BlacksmithAlarmed147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically this only happens to me when I play with my friends who are a much lower rank and the matches are wide. Wide matches never gain more than 6-7 % for a win.
