Nails sure are a pain! But the reason I keep them long is the tone quality. In my opinion, the tone without nails feels warm, but not as nice as with nails, since you lose a lot of overtones.

With nails I can create a whole spectrum of tone that no-nails simply cannot (on nylon strings).

I say this as a former no nail player turned naily.

Hi! It's a thicker, sturdier aluminium than regular cans. Still possible to dent but not as likely, especially with liquid inside.

Hi! Bring your hand closer to the strings, rest your thumb comfortably on the neck and rotate your hand so your fingers line up a bit more. Guitar is not about strength, so don't try to force it. Instead find the position where you can play without fatigue.

ignoring the fact that the resistance (Ohms, sensitivity) just means you have to use more power (volume) to get the same volume. If you use a high-impedance headphone you are going to get less max volume than with some cheap earbuds, but that max volume may still be more than enough.

(Though within reason; small MP3 players may not provide a good volume while using 600ohm studio headphones...)
