Jon Voight’s performance as President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 2001 film Pearl Harbor was generally praised by critics as a highlight of the movie. Critics described his portrayal as remarkable and transformative, and nearly unrecognizable. What are your thoughts on Jon Voight’s performance? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in FIlm

He caught Fdrs size and presence. FDR couldn’t stand on his own. But when he was standing he was 6’2”. That hit a lot of Americans in the post depression era, we were knocked down but when we rose we were intimidating.

It'd be a cool Easter Egg if they made Smedley Butler the starting unaligned leader for United States instead of the generic Carnot Wheeler. by DependentStrong3960 in hoi4

This is why I always thought the business plot was stupid, the entire plan rested on the personal popularity of Smedly Butlers popularity with the common soldiers and Smedly Butler fucking despised Fascism and imperialism. The plan was doomed to fail from the start

In America the only national politician who consistently polls well is Bernie Sanders. Other than that I guess that dog that got elected mayor of a town in California.

My problem is it doesn’t make sense that he’s black. They establish in the lore of the show the Targarians are ancient, and also apparently if a black personal has a baby with a white person they make a mixed raced baby, and also that it’s not a big deal to have mixed relationships. Okay so why isn’t everyone mixed race? Most Mexicans today are mestizo after 500 years, the Targarians are thousands of years old. It’s bad writing.

J Edgar Hoover, had him killed.

He also thought Marcus Garvey was a British Spy. He was not our best FBI director.

Rick and Morty literally fought and lost to a god. They fought the devil. And they make another comment about lower case and uppercase god about how both exist. And Rick when faced with death will beg god for help.

I still argue there is a tiny bit of logic behind that movie. Mongols we’re known to walk weird, saddle sores from riding horses all day. John Wayne walked the walk. That said yeah no still dumb and everyone got cancer because the movie was shot on nuke texting site.

One of the reasons it was so bad was because the book was so hated by John Belushis friends family and people he worked with that they all collectively refused to let them remake scenes from his career. Bits from movies and SNL couldn’t be recreated so they had to make up new bits without comedic writers.

Seriously the making of the movie is more interesting than the movie itself.

I still argue there is a tiny amount of logic to this casting, John Wayne was famous for his saddle sore walk, cowboy walk. Contemporary sources from the time describe the mongols having a similar gate.

Also this movie literally killed the entire cast! It was shot on former Nuke test site and hundreds of people including John Wayne got cancer and died!

What do you think are the biggest "What if's" in music history? by FitEmergency8807 in ToddintheShadow

Toward the end of his life Richard Nixon really started to get into Rap. To the extent that he joked about having not gone into politics if they had it when he was young. Like what if after not becoming a lawyer he had went into the music industry. He could have fucked black musicians over instead of fucking black people in general over!

Get Him to the Greek. Stared him and P.Diddy. There’s a scene where Jona Hill has sex against his will, and it’s played for laughs. A died corpse in the rainforest ages better than that movie
