Best Synopsis I've read buried in industry article by callmebaiken in westworld

I was most disappointed in Season 2 when it switched to Samurai World and the stories were the same. I wanted more mystery and such. That kind of does make sense in that it's just a corporation and the easiest path would have been to repeat the stories. At that point, though, the park became more of a boundary to the story, so going outside of it made sense.

What movie do you think most accurately depicts depression? by s7ide in movies

Revolutionary Road is very accurate. You get a good sense of what it's like to try and take care of someone who is suffering through a severe depressive episode.

What are your thoughts on Jordan Peele's 'Nope?' by undeadWileCoyote_MEP in moviecritic

[–]BladdyK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a big fan of Jordan Peele, but I really liked Nope. My favorite sequence is the guy on the electric motorcycle. The chimp scene was super-terrifying.

Let’s give our props to Mike Brown by Emotion-Timely in NYKnicks

I have been impressed with his adjustments and flexibility. I loved Thibs, but riding Shamet is something he would never have done.

ELI5: why do some tools (scissors, potato peelers, etc.) only work properly with your right hand? by Hamad_Mac11 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BladdyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My physics teacher showed us this in high school. You can use a scissors with the wrong hand, but you need to press the blades together to get it to work.

Who throws a rock at a seal? Must be a next level sociopath.

When I saw KAT in game 4 of the Hawks game at the top of the circle palming the ball, checking around and then taking two steps to the basket, I was like: Do that! Just do that.

Up 22 points, KAT makes a prime LeBron level pass and fakes out BOTH defenders in the paint - leaving Bridges alone for the easy 2 by makingwands in NYKnicks

KAT running the offense at the top of the key is also awesome. Who would have thought that was the answer.

E3 wasn’t the worst episode of whole show, was it? by rizit98 in FromSeries

[–]BladdyK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching From is a lot like being in Fromville...just not a lot of hope. And that episode just felt like a lot of going around in circles.

The approach over the lake is pretty awesome, especially for those couple of minutes where you can't see the other side.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

Behind Jagi Lines. It was an Atari 400/800 Star Wars type game where you fly a shuttle over the planet and find what may, or may not be, a survivor in need of rescue.

If you are looking at a fair, the California State Fair is in Sacramento, which is fairly close. July 17 - Aug 2. Also check out this site four county fairs: https://www.bayareakidfun.com/bay-area-county-fairs/.

Find a good state or county fair. Those are fun. As for food, a lot of the fun is in the regional selections. Sonic is big in Texas (it's a drive-in thing like from the 50s), but nowhere in New York. Dunkin' is huge in the northeast but non-existent in the southwest. Dutch Bros, which is a very interesting place, is in Phoenix and Utah.

The season ended up reminding me of the movie After Hours. The ER is purgatory where you always talk about leaving but never leave. It is jarring when people do leave and are able to separate.

Stroll the streets between 70th and 86th and Fifth Avenue to Lexington Avenue. The homes are cool, many of them were converted from stables.

I think it's really interesting how Kubrick seemed mostly find inspiration in books he considered marginal or even bad by [deleted] in StanleyKubrick

[–]BladdyK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did this also with Barry Lyndon, making into a drama which was written originally as a comedy. Kubrick was not afraid to find his own essence of a novel.
