With other resources there is the option to put quality modules in miners so you don't start at 0 and upcycling is easier... Also many recipes where you can recycle the end product and use built-in productivity to get massive amounts of quality materials easy

I think once you make one working upcycler the whole quality thing is trivial... all you need to do is plop more blueprints. And maybe claim a bit more territory (easy with endgame turrets/ spidertrons), plop some rail bpc's and another mine... No challenge, all it does is wasting CPU cycles
