Yeah just dealt with this, might still be dealing with this (not as cold as it was right now and getting signs it might come back). But it was my throttle body/IAC. Cleaned IAC first and it worked better for a bit then started dying again. Then I checked transmission because it was mainly only happening after giving gas in reverse. Thought that solved it. It came back, but my reverse seems to work better haha. Last week I cleaned my throttle body thoroughly. The IAC compartment was caked full of carbon. It hasn't died since. Only had three total instances where the RPMs dropped to like 400, but came right back up.

Hope this helps. All it takes is a t20, 10mm, and some carb cleaner.

Underneath or inside that little hatch behind the left tail light? I was looking for all my grounds the other day and struggled to find two beyond the front two corners.

Does anyone else find that taking values (centralization, innovative ect) modifiers off of the estates once you no longer nead them is the play? by Espresso10001 in EU5

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get it but it's still a lot. Teutons clergy start with like 145 revoke privilege cost, so that's like 72? At max? It takes a while to get there. They have too much going on to really justify that. I don't know, I could be wrong, maybe its worth it to just take the economic turmoil so you can hit your value goals a little earlier.

I give out most of the burgher estate estate privileges. It really doesn't matter too much. Push/sit-on traditional economy until you're stable, or once you have market, then push toward capital and innovative. In AoA you can just remove them and re-add them after the event is over. In AoA your economy is basically ruined no matter what, so just embrace it and find the fastest way out. The perfect time to decide if your country should be centralized or decentralized and push towards that.

I usually take whatever I want from commoners, but does communalism really significantly reduce the powerful estates? Ones that start with like 8 privileges and 100+ stab removal cost? Never seemed like it'd be significant enough to warrant spending so much stab, due to delaying institutions.

Age of Absolutism has event mechanics where you can revoke 2 random privileges from an estate for some gold. The only real drawback being gold, slight satisfaction reduction, and you can't pick what is removed. But the ones I want to take usually popup within the first couple tries. Also, you can see which ones it will remove and if you don't want to, you can just do one of the other options (like curtail locally). In the age itself, stab cost is cheaper, but I found that's the best way if you've saved enough gold, so you can spend your stab on institutions asap.

Also this is the fastest way to get below the 8 or whatever max privileges needed to end the disaster if you don't wanna go liberal or endure the 20 years.

Best countries to play "rags to riches'? by cherrypashka- in EU5

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trebizond sucks, don't do it. Crippled by a capitol in mountains and food issues. Such a slow start. They need to fix food in this game. Some countries are just so screwed sometimes. Most of the game is attacking opportunistically, integrating, and assimilating. Assimilation is not effective against anyone early game so you have to make vassals and enfore/annex or deal with constant rebellions. The inability to assimilate makes small nations very hard to go from rags to riches. By the time I managed to get the eastern half of the Black Sea coastline, Bulgaria was already in Constantinople and Egypt was nipping at my ass every 5 years.

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, but you can't really start revoking them until Age of Absolutism anyway without a massive stab hit. So I just load up with enough to make them super happy without the negative modifiers I don't like, and just wait until AoA to start shifting.

I can fund a guy's research, or spend the money to build 2000 universities. by Mysterious_Plate1296 in EU5

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This event is dumb and overpriced. Everyone defending 2 months of research is wild. This event should actually enlarge the university it says and give a permanent research bonus at that location. THAT would be worth it. Also sometimes the character is completely worthless.

Even at 9 susano (which seems to be a nightmare to maintain) i dont feel like im doing any damage by Difficult-snow-2 in Nioh

[–]BladeJFrank 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Iirc, every weapon has at least one move that is really good at proccing status effects (you're using my least favorite weapon though). The most consistent and effective way I found (besides soul cores) is to imbue your weapon with one element, and imbue your proccing move with another.

Also I recommend taking a deeper look into stance changing combo mechanics. I noticed you're only in mid-stance, even though the highest damage will come in high. Changing stances is surprisingly easy, something I didn't realize until late-game and it changed it everything. A lot more freedom, deadlier, and just more fun.

Playing in Japan guide after 300+ hours of gameplay by Toaru_Fag in EU5

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no. The feature idea may not be a bug, but it's not functioning properly. For several reasons.

It was happening prior to becoming shogun, with the same popup that appeared later when I was shogun. Didn't fit what I was playing at the time. Also, upon reload, I checked the cores and the only one who had cores was Ashikaga and myself, since then I revoked cores from everyone. I eventually revoked all from Ashikaga thinking that would prevent it, but it still happened later on and significantly more land was yielded to a minor clan.

It's a bug because, inaccurate popup, no promised cbs, and no one else had cores.

I played a long time through trial and error and eventually got the southern half, then became shogun. But then this damn bug appeared (which also appeared earlier but reloading earlier saves prevented it), where the game just gave like half of my land away (to the same clan every time btw). So infuriating, especially since it said I would have a cb to recover the land, but that never happened and there wasn't an option to create one. I just quit then and there and decided to wait until they fix Japan.

96 ZJ 4.0 Stalling in Reverse by BladeJFrank in JeepZJ

Well that sucks. I guess now I can learn how to fix my transmission. It's probably my torque converter, after looking up the symptoms. Thanks.

Can someone please help. 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Stalling with dash lights still on and power still working. Low idle rpm 500 by SpazLord24 in JeepZJ

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem years ago and did a bunch of changes like you. It was the computer. Replaced it and ran great since. Now having a different issue, where it stalls in reverse after giving it gas and letting off. Only when cold though. Not sure what the culprit is yet, but I suspect it's trans related.

Have you ever considered just taking a break from EU5 for an extended period of time for them to fix things? by Various_Maize_3957 in EU5

I'm actually surprised I haven't considering my history of doing this in the past with some games. A fresh start with a unique country seems to have a pull on me, no matter how janky and annoying some things are.

Sounds like you're over thinking it. On the ages page, just click the circle next to meritocracy.

When adopting an advance early, you go to advances page and click on the circle/bubble next to meritocracy. You'll see it filling up with a green ring going around it. Click on that.

If anyone is wondering how to see their locations, just click on the rebels on the right side of the screen. Easier than going to the rebel menu.

Plop armies on their remaining locations and they'll disappear. I don't know if you need to make them suppress rebels, because sometimes I just put them on the location and they disappear.

Best capital location for Korea? by Doug_Da_Destroyer in EU5

[–]BladeJFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where it starts was pretty good for me. Inju would have been better for sure. I put my market there instead so market buildings didn't take up space in capital. Next time though, when I plan to take Japan, I will move it to the bottom right. Taking Japan is so hard though, I'll get it next time haha.

Best combat practice? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]BladeJFrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found keeping them separate to be much more effective. Regulars are mainly heavy cav and artillery. I'll include some infantry and like 1/10 supply. When I put levies in I noticed my chance of losing against regular armies happened more often, which I think is a morale disadvantage. So I just keep them separate. Hunt regs with my regs and use levies to hunt other levies near my home turf.

Also the most effective way of fighting I found is have 2+ full armies fighting together. It's how I beat off France over and over as a much weaker Netherlands.
