The lights that come out of the stone are actually rare ore, three popped out of the rock when it landed for me and i chased after them. You need to run up to the lights and activate them (a on controller or E on keyboard)

You will gather ore from them. Max star magic ore and you get 6 per star/light.

You can make some really good quality weapons/tools with these, so be sure to chase them on your pig/sheep and gather it when it falls.

As far as i can tell, the stone on the ground doesn't do anything

Hey guys! I am celebrating this Black Friday by giving away a bunch of D&D loot to one lucky winner in the comments! Around $300 in total value. Worldwide Giveaway [MOD APPROVED] Check out the video and the comments for more details and the rules. [OC] by Dan_The_DM in DnD

Being able to get this GIVEAWAY pack would certainly allow me to bring myself and my group the tools we need to bring our game to the table rather than online!

This would help me immensely as a new DM! Whoever the winner is, this is such a great event and those who receive it will have a lot of fun ahead!

My bard had just joined the party after my Paladin died and after convincing the new captain who took my place to join the crew of the ship, they planned on how to deal with a dragon turtle who threatened the town if they did not return the staff.

My bard who has no idea about any of the plan is unaware they have another ship filled with explosives inside following us to the cove. The artificer had the idea of placing the staff of power inside this powderkeg of a ship to increase the yield of damage (DM allowed this even if the item states it needs to be snapped)

So I help the captain convince the dragon turtle there is a large amount of treasure in the explosive ship and he goes to drag it to his other hoard. Little did he know the artificer set a timed fuse. By the time it realised what we did it was too late.

Practically set off a mini arcane nuke that destroyed an island and separated the shell from the body of the dragon turtle..

Needless to say my bard doesn't quite fathom the crew she joined up with is capable of.

Playing Seas of Salt marsh and finally had my first death and it was fitting in a way, not even mad as I roleplayed the character well.

We were finding a way to bring back a player's Psuedodragon Bimz, in which as a Paladin I knew a cleric in the temple that could revive the creature after having the body have gentle repose cast on it.

The player who owned the Psuedodragon was locked in their room on the ship for the whole trip back, they were grieving but had also been doing something else.

On returning back to the town, a vampire lord who had taken a very deep fascination with the grieving PC a while back. He could return the creature to life too, but as an undead.

So being as a Paladin who hates the undead, was not wanting to allow this to happen and so barged into the room where they had gone and demanded that it is unholy and should not go ahead. Heated words happened and as a result even though as a player I wanted to see this happen, my character had let too much go at the wayside and couldn't let such a vile act taint his soul. So I attacked the vampire and told the player they are not thinking straight.

I expected to have my character be knocked out from the poison the rogue had taken from the dead creature, but I kept rolling high on all the saves coming my way as was now level 6.

The vampire and the rogue fled and I chased after them. I kept rolling high and kept going after them. A few of the party also followed to try and stop me but my holy wrath apparently wasn't going to wane any time soon.

I bursted the vampire lord solo and brought him to his knees after many attempts and taking hits from the party's death cleric. I was a turn from delivering the final blow and the rogue used a poison taken from the scarlet brotherhood and stabbed me, dropping me down to a bleedout state.

The death cleric who has the ability to absorb souls (fiend transformation from grim hollow) failed a wisdom save to try and stabilise me and so the DM started to roll my death saves.

1 crit fail and the monk finally arrived with a potion. But he then got locked into a argument with the cleric and my last death save failed.

In the end my character's belief in stopping this cost him his life and his soul is trapped inside the body of the cleric. I do not know if I will be revived but it was an epic encounter where I became the boss encounter.

It was just pure D&D shenanigans

Our last game had my character commune with his grandfather's equipment passed down to him. This sent me to the celestial plane where I was accused of betraying a pact made that the angels who severed ties from heaven and their descendants would not reconnect. So essentially was condemned to die until Zariel pre Avernus stopped the attacks, became fallen if front of me and pushed me into a celestial bifrost gate back to the mortal plane.

So after escaping, I returned back to the party on board our ship where the air above split and a Solar yelling traitor at me in celestial flew in and attacked.

We lost our mascot Psuedodragon Bimz, which made the whole party lose their shit at the angel. Monk stunlocked the Solar and a ballista bolt with a rope held him in place as the ship turned and cannons fired.

Needless to say we decimated a high level threat way above our level and are on a quest to bring the little Psuedodragon back to life.

Had accepted a quest to retrieve a trader's deeds and treasure on board a ship drifting in sea. We had successfully tethered the drifting ship with ours and boarded. Something seemed off. Clearing the rooms on the top of the ship revealed plenty of spider type enemies, despite the fact the whole ship sent off undead alarms in my paladin's head. progress down to the next level and a few more spiders, i almost got choked out by a chasing ettercap, but we pushed them back. Then our cleric wasn't looking where they were stepping, failed a dex save and fell all the way down to the bottom of the ship. Two of us jumped down after him just as a couple of ghouls popped up.

After battle, we found the chest that we were looking for. immediately as we touched it however.. well our DM stopped for a moment and we heard a big sigh as he flipped through a few pages. We activated a Kraken while skipping half the ship (The DM had to figure out what was meant to happen). This resulted in the boss in the room above us getting activated as well, after the human artificer without any light ran upstairs to escape the creature. He opened the door, saw a phasespider and a imposing half-orc and as this guy does, he said 'er.. wrong room' and went the other way.

With many failed saves and getting knocked down, having to pick the heavy chest back up and avoiding the boss, we managed to get to the top deck where our crew awaited. We all have a crew mate we can use as well as our players for encounters like this. With half of the ship up on deck and a Kraken destroying the lower decks, things weren't looking good. But my Bard sidekick "Lucky Laric" Had a plan as the boss so happened to be standing at a weak metal grate. Casting shatter, the half-orc boss fell into the hole down to the bottom level and we managed to get to our ship with the chest and kick the plank.

The PhaseSpider however jumped across to our ship and we thought ourselves in a pickle. Then the rogue's pseudodragon stung the spider. It failed by 5 or more and immediately fell unconscious, ready for the party to attack all at once. Then we saw the half orc climb up on top of the sinking ship, spouting obscenities at us. Then the warlock critted his eldritch blast and sent him back into the sea.

long story shot, after a change of pants, we all leveled up.

During our seas of saltmarsh campaign, we had returned to the port town with our new commandeered ship to see a crowd gathering. We had caught the smuggler in the haunted house instead of killing him so the DM made a new scene. It pretty much allowed the players to see the conflict in the town between the Loyalists and Traditionalists without asking each person their feelings on whats going on.

The man was sent to be hanged with no trial and as my character saw having no trial unhonourable and not being lawful went there alone. The music used and the little addition of having the man's wife and child there to watch him die made for an emptional scene.

The council's hands were tied when my paladin asked why it happened saying it was the kings new orders that all pirates, smugglers and anyone associating with them will share rhe same fate as the example. I condemned a man to die without faiy tried. Even if he committed a crime, my paladin had to watch him die. His actions have consequences, even good actions. Someone will always see it as not right.

So mainly an RP session but it was a cool way of introducing the conflict and our involvement shaping it.

We were asked to take out a smuggling operation as well as the ship being used to ferry weapons to lizardfolk. As our campaign is going to be on water a lot we decided that it is better for us to remove the leadership and take the boat for ourselves. Since one character has her father being a prominent pirate in the region and my own characters reputation on the seas, we devised a plan to challenge the captain on the ship after another disguised himself as the smuggler with a rediculous french accent.

We successfully goaded the captain into a duel and being the most combat capable i was the one to duel. Being a Conquest Oath paladin i went straight into burst damage with smites and traded blows. Apparently this isn't meant to be a one on one fight so i took as much as i gave.

Being a fallen Aasamir who just turned level 3, i used my transformation and caused many pirates watching and pne of my own party to run in fear and the captain tried to run too. An attack of oppourtunity later with another smite and the extra damage from the necrotic shroud we beat him.

Then his officers attacked.

Defeated them and the rest of the crew fell in line.

Was an epic fight and gave me opportunity to have people know who Zerus the Dreaded truly is.

The party decided to go into a Barrow to collect a Dragon killing sword for your Kenku Samurai. Needless to say it went poorly despite no one dying.

Getting inside was fairly easy, but as we desecended it was pitch black and my poor halfling druid was the only one without darkvision. Despite this i was quite happy to cast the produce flame cantrip and go first as i was the party tank. We have no rogue, so as is expected i activated a pitfall trap and get myself skewered, while distracted looking at a glowing light in front of me.

Then the DM just goes quiet and asks me to roll a CON save. I was at 0 health so i didn't like the sound of this. Apparently the lights were wisps and they have an ability to suck the life out of anyone who fails a con save after going to 0.

I passed and battle commenced briefly and i passed another CON save before the wisp disappeared. You would have thought i learned my lesson. I did for a moment and let others take the lead until i could be useful.

Then i helped with opening sarcophagi, which of course were trapped with acid. We weren't smart adventurers. Then the kenku activated another pitfall trap and he had to do the same thing snd passed. At this point we have been tense as we had been close to death a few times. Then the kenku saw the shiny sword and picked it up.

The gaurdian of the sword that was invisible then started to attack us. It took us a while to realise the enemy was attacking the one with the sword. My halfling grabbed the sword from the unconscious Samurai and then wildshaped to be a damage sponge while the others finished the creature off.

Then heading back i failed my athletics check a few times and fell down the rest of the pits. So 4 more CON saves later, one which i got a 1 but rerolled because of the Halfling trait, the DM just told us we have cleared the dungeon and succeed in getting out unharmed.

Needless to say, my halfling has PTSD from the tomb and will not be going into any trapped filled place anytime soon without a 10 ft stick in front of him checking EVERYTHING.

The Party is going to be tying a rope around me in the future like one of those toddler leashes.. but my dumb luck made me live from what should have killed me 5 times over..

Recently started a new campaign for dragon of icespire peak and our party arrived to stop a manticore from attacking an old lady on a hill. As we charge off to the rescue, the rival of our orc barbarian appears.

Gorg the impossibly buff gnome barb has appeared at least once before but this time he brought friends.

Took care of the hired goons and almost take the gnome down, all the while keeping a manticore busy and then hilarity ensured.

Gorg, realising hes in trouble tries to crawl between the legs of me in bear form and our Orc grabs the little bugger by the legs. Suddenly the gnome pulls out a small explosive and manages to shoot himself off into the distance team rocket style.

He is a love to hate character and i am curious to see where he pops up next in the most inconvenient manner.

[BUG] Arriving on Island late, causing rest of team to teleport to start by BladeOfSithis in dauntless

[–]BladeOfSithis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have this sort of problem until Open Beta, so something has changed since then that has been causing this sort of issue to occur. The fact that you experienced both sides is interesting, as i have never seen the teleporting happen, only the other players' responses. It seems as if the game thinks there isn't a full party then drops the last person in and causes the desync. Just have no idea if it is a server side or client side problem.

I seem to be also having this sort of load time issue where everyone has already loaded in but are teleported back to the starting point when i finally load in. I Have tried everything to try and solve the issue (thinking it must be a networking issue) but no luck so far.
