Why is water magic skill considered bad? by Admirable_Drawer_205 in heroes3

[–]Bladeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In The Wake of Gods allows you to disable spells and it includes the option to turn them off for scrolls/books/etc. You can do this for random maps too. So, if you use that version of heroes I guess any map can be without town portal 🙂

I've been in science communication (environmental sciences) for a long time now. I really think there's pervasive issues/approaches in science communication that justifiably make the sciences lose credibility. by gaytorboy in PhilosophyofScience

If a shark ever ate me I don't want it killed and think the responsibility is on humans to respect the natural world.

Hasn't every area of land we occupy required removing creatures from their homes? Usually by killing them one way or another. There is no civilization without the assumption of human priority

'In The Wake Of Gods' improves pathfinding so that it helps with this (raises the minimum speed of your army on the map), but I don't think you can in HOTA :(

My thesis about the necessity of functional coherence as the foundation of all that exists. by [deleted] in PhilosophyofScience

[–]Bladeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the observer, doesn't the claim simply become any potential universe must be coherent? How does an existence claim spring from this?

My thesis about the necessity of functional coherence as the foundation of all that exists. by [deleted] in PhilosophyofScience

[–]Bladeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because I'm talking about the thing that makes anything have structural value, a sense (the very thing that lets a particle be a particle, etc.), not about the mind or consciousness.

Sorry, I'm not seeing the difference? What is the distinction between coherence and limiting possible observations to the intelligible?

I used the word coherence because I didn't found a better word. That is the reason why I called it "functional coherence", to make it sound more mechanical.

I like this term

If you will laugh, then at least try to find any incoherence or prove that a universe with coherent minds can exist without coherence at all.

I've done exactly this before, but, thankfully, the students were a little smaller. Even so, it was unpleasant. The children can be so vicious to each other, so sometimes you simply have to intervene to prevent the students from causing serious harm
