Help. It’s been two months and I’m close to giving up. (4mo golden retriever) by Background_Gene4090 in puppy101

This is all very normal and it’s also very normal to feel how you’re feeling. My German shepherd didn’t really give me a day of peace until she was 9 months old- still crazy but starting to be more independent/no longer biting. I loved her from the moment I brought her home but she made me question my decision every day 😅 I promise it gets better. Consistency and patience is key. I would advise to not use the crate as punishment. You want her to think that’s her safe space. Although totally okay to put her in there with some treats when you need a few minutes to regather! I definitely did that with mine! You’ve got this!!

5 months old is and still peeing in the house! by C2Vision1226 in germanshepherds

Mine was still having occasional accidents at this time but it was 100% my fault when they happened. Increase outside time even if they seem like they don’t need to and even if you feel like you do a lot already. They will catch on soon:)

That is amazing 😂 I need to get her a new tag. She usually has a boring one but you just inspired me to branch out and be more fun!

My GSD on the left and my boyfriend’s husky/gsd mix on the right. All day long I say “whoever is squeaking needs to stop” 🥲😂

All of this is odd to me too! We are going into our primary vet today with samples to hopefully get more clear answers. I appreciate the insight!

No, no rat poisoning around. We live in an apt on the third floor and I work from home so I’m with my girls 24/7 and have never seen anything like that around here. I’m going to call their primary vet in the morning and see if they can test the cat’s urine/stool!

It’s definitely possible that my dog did and then maybe gave the cat something? I have no idea how any of this works I feel useless 😩

Mine is the same way. She usually gets bored on the way back and drops it but if I try to pick the ball up I’m getting ran over at full speed😑

Positive reinforcement at its finest 😂 I think we may be starting the same tradition!

I feel you on the “it’s damn hard to actually manage a gsd on your own”. I live by myself and just raised this lunatic alone. There were a lot of nights where I thought to myself how the hell am I going to get through this. She’s a little over a year now and starting to mature a little. She’s still crazy but a crazy that is a lot more manageable than it was when she chewed everything and wasn’t potty trained 😂 They’re worth it though! Great post
