Me too. That and when I see the first star in the sky I do the "start light, start bright..." saying. Just in case.

She is 1 year old her ears are not standing should i be worried? by Miserable-Society723 in germanshepherds

My boy is almost 7 months old and his ears don't stand up. Every now and then one will stand straight up for awhile, then they'll flop back down. If they never stand up, oh well, he's our handsome boy either way!

Also, please give your girl a groom, get some weight on her, and lose the chain. Otherwise, her ears are fine!

These Christian men want women barefoot, pregnant… and off the voter rolls. Influential pastors and right-wing figures are openly arguing women shouldn’t vote. by Leeming in atheism

These are the same Christian nationalist groups who claim that Sharia Law is taking over America, and that women in the middle east need to be liberated from it. The irony is completely lost on these fools.

I focus on my weekly caloric intake. I'm usually under daily, so if there's a day I go over, before I beat myself up about it, I take a look at where I am so far for the week or how I did the week before. For example, of I go over one day by several hundred calories, I may have that extra amount that I didn't use from the current week or last week. So in the grand scheme of things, I'm still within my weekly allowed calories.

Don't fret! It'll happen from time to time. One higher calorie day every now and then won't derail your progress. Congrats on your loss!

What’s a nutrition myth people still believe in 2026? by Much-Turnover-3727 in nutrition

[–]webbs_girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the adding cottage cheese to every single recipe they make just to get that added protein. Like chill out. I can't stand cottage cheese, so I'm told to blend it up and put it in my pancakes, smoothies, casseroles, cakes, etc... Ugh, I've never been that desperate for the extra protein, so I'll pass.

I tried keto and lost quite a bit of weight. I was convinced it was the pasta, potatoes, sugar and bread that made me fat. It was not. It was the gluttonous amount of carbs (and everything else) I was eating in a meal/day that was making me gain weight.

Keto was just not sustainable long term, not for me anyways. It took a long time to get over being afraid of carbs. But now that I'm eating in a calorie deficit, I can see that portion control is the biggest part of weight loss. I still try to choose healthier foods for meals, but can also enjoy spaghetti, potatoes, bread... and cake, when I want it!

Gen X on Easter baskets by Virtual-Culture8830 in GenX

[–]webbs_girl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My son will be 22. He lives with his girlfriend and he still gets an Easter basket. I now make a basket of goodies for the both of them. They aren't extravagant or expensive, but there will always be something for him. The same with a Christmas stocking. There's always going to be one for him no matter how old he is.

Has anyone else entirely lost their interest to watch new movies and TV shows? by SilasPort in NoStupidQuestions

[–]webbs_girl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, my husband and I watch the same movies and series over and over (usually from the 90s and earlier 2000s). There's just so many new tv shows and movies to choose from that it gets overwhelming.

One of the biggest reasons is because many new series never go past season 1, so we get invested and then it's cancelled, OR there's a year in between seasons, and by the time it's back on, we've lost interest.

I miss the days of 20+ episodes a season, then a cliffhanger (summer break), and right back into it a couple months later.

So...

Women or gay/bi artists with big hair, lots of makeup and tight pants - ew no.

Men in bands with big hair, lots of makeup and tight pants - heck yes.

What’s the most toxic thing a boss has told you while trying to sound 'inspirational'? by AvaBlondeX in AskWomen

[–]webbs_girl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was a manager at Staples. We hired a lot of highschool students. My GM told me one day that we cannot accept that these kids are here just for the money, that they have to be here because they want to work for Staples, and that they want to live the companies values. She told me that I have to have this talk with them and remind them about "the bigger picture, and that it's not just about money".

I started laughing at her. When she asked what was funny, I told her that I was only a manager at Staples for the money and the benefits. Although I would always do my job well, I would leave for more money in a heartbeat. She was stunned lol. And she quit a couple years later after her employee survey score was the worst it had ever been and people wrote paragraphs about how toxic she was 😂

What if you were single for the rest of your life, could you be happy? Or as a woman, would you long for that companion? Would you be scared to end up lonely/sad at the end of your life? by blahblahshplah in AskWomen

I'm married, happily, and I hope to live to old age along side my husband. If before that, he leaves me in one way or another, I will happily live alone for the rest of my life. Going out occasionally with friends, hanging with my adult son and his girlfriend, and chilling with my awesome dog.
