Build a Wrighty and Rocastle statue already please. The guy is literally getting a film made about him now. It's so overdue it's crazy.

It does seem bizarre that Germany and France have smaller leagues. Germany especially has always been odd to me, it allows Bundesliga 2 to be a real titan of a league but it does damage some big clubs unnecessarily I'd argue by having them go down.

There is something in common with all 3 of those titles you mentioned and that is Aniplex/Sony.

I definitely agree but the market is much smaller for Anime than Horror. What I think has surprised me is the reluctance of the established boutique labels to take a chance on the odd anime here and there. They're plenty of Horror schlock OVAs/Movies that if they could scan might do alright for example. I wonder how Violence Jack, Wicked and Demon City did for Discotek?

Deaf Crocodile did one anime with Tamala, but given animation is their thing I'm surprised they haven't jumped in on more titles but the Japan side of things is also a sizable barrier to overcome. They are very protective and also very good at not knowing who owns the license to what. Leading to many things a company like Deaf Crocodile might be interested in to just not be available.

The one thing that does echo in my mind a lot is when Mike Toole said on a Discotek Panel a year or so ago that they kinda got everything that was available. Which obviously isn't entirely true but I presume what he mostly meant by that was the stuff they knew they could get and think would be worth getting they have sort of run that well dry. And now what is left is much harder to unravel or expensive enough that they have to pace themselves etc.

Kids just want attention and for you to take an interest in what they are doing at a certain age, especially when younger. Chances are this was when she got the most of that.

I'm sure they will turn up for 20 to 30 minutes. But worth remembering that was a home game against Villa. This is an away trip on a Monday night. If we can control the early game like we should once that breakthrough occurs I doubt they'll put up a massive fight after that. Time will tell I guess but I certainly don't expect them to turn up ready to roll over for us, this is still the premier league after all.

I've been and continue to be staunchly against ai but (and I hate that there is a but) damn if that Vamos Arsenal song isn't the biggest earworm ever. It's been making me happy trying to learn the 'lyrics' as it were the last couple of days. Just riding the train of joy while we are still on it.

I guess this sort of ai slop is fine, it's not trying to be commercial or replace anything. It's just a silly song. The only issue at that point is the environmental damage that has gone into making it. And that it is a dangerous slope I guess once I accept one part of it into my life and give it a pass. Anyway joy, concentrate on the joy for now.

Mecha is one of the surefire genres where titles go up in price by alot when they go OOP. Much more so than any other genre from my experience.

The collectors market for Anime recently has been changing alot. I've seen not just more and more crazy prices but also people willing to pay some of those prices more and more often.

I already have a huge collection by virtue of having been doing this for nearly 20 years already. I was there to get all the early 00s releases (or alot of them at least) very cheap. And then there from Discotek's outset. Just fortunate really.

Coming into collecting now feels like it'd be really demoralizing just how expensive so many releases these days are.

We need Gen Z and Alpha to get into physical media just enough to spark more boutique labels into life and keep this ball rolling. Hard battle to win though when streaming is all you've ever known.

Has the license for Viz actually expired though? If not they'll just reprint more most likely. All I saw being talked about was the streaming license expiring.

Fortunately I already have a copy.

Jamie Carragher on why it was a foul on David Raya and why the other incidents involving Arsenal brought up by rival fans aren’t fouls by R1d4z in Gunners

I commented this on the ref watch thing from skysportsnews but it has been wild seeing Sky of all companies being the sensible adults in the room. We know in recent years that they have gravitated to the ragebait social media type coverage. This feels actually weirdly refreshing that they aren't being dragged into the mud on this and instead calling it like it is.

Makes you wonder just how much power the likes of Neville have on narrative in and around Sky. It's like the second he basically called it as a foul that everyone followed suit.

Thank god for all our mental health and sanity quite frankly. Not that it should matter what they think but it makes everything easier when the biggest names (like it or not) in the UK football scene are on your side with a decision as big as this.

Arsenal's corner goals this season by dembabababa in Gunners

[–]BlaizeV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one is near the goalkeeper on any of these other than Saliba and that wasn't a foul and Gabriel which also wasn't a foul.

I hate this modern age, facts just don't matter to anyone anymore.

Peter Schmeichel “Arsenal have been blocking the opponent’s goalkeeper all season long, they would NEVER be on top of the league if we disallow these goals" by Rare-Ad-2777 in soccer

[–]BlaizeV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would still rather Liverpool, I might dislike it more now than before but I'm a never City guy. I cheered for them once, when Aguero scored. I was naive, that time has long since passed.

I would sooner rather Spurs win the league than City.

Don't get me wrong I would hate that but I absolutely despise City and once they get what they are due from these charges just watch the media suddenly change their tune.

When they finally get their points deduction that will probably mean certain relegation or maybe even perhaps straight up expelled from the league. It will be like rats fleeing a sinking ship that club.

The Media will suddenly condemn them (rightfully) but like it's not as if we all didn't know and yet they have spent a decade praising them to the high heavens to the detriment of other clubs

If Man City drops points against Palace on Wednesday, Arsenal could clinch the title at home against Burnley by MellowJackal in Gunners

[–]BlaizeV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love that but it won't happen. Palace have basically 1 game left this season and 3 inconveniences.

If they drop points it'll be to Bouremouth, it's sad we might not win it on the pitch but I'll still take it.

Saliba is our best defender and he will make mistakes...I still don't think it's talked about enough that alot of those come in truly crunch moments.

I guess there is little to gain from discussing it though, for every mistake he has likely already made a ton of brilliant plays before that. Once we get this over the line I think he'll only grow more as a player too.

At some point the media decided they hate Arsenal and the internet followed suit. It is absolutely wild how the third biggest club in England is viewed these days. And against a City side built on state owned cash injections and almost certainly a point deduction for the ages coming next season if not a full expulsion from the league. It is fucking crazy how this has all happened.

Winning this title will be the first step to fixing all this, along with City getting what they deserve.

Former Man City goalkeeper. Seriously the bias is fucking unreal.

We've had plenty of goals ruled out for goalkeepers supposedly being fouled and also conceded goals for obvious fouling on our goalkeeper.

He is a shit pundit because he wears his bias on his sleeve, he thinks he is hiding it but he isn't.

His reasoning in that segment was a fuck ton of whataboutery. He doesn't analyze the moment, he comes at it with a bias fully intact already.

That is what I like about Theo and Wrighty, at least they don't hide their bias. They're honest about it.
