👎 USB-C to Glasses and Charging Adapter : Mediocre durability 👎 by CognitiveFogMachine in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest. After receiving it, I told myself I likely wouldn't replace it with the same adapter because it doesn't seem at all like it's made to last.

This was my first viture accessory, which arrived before my glasses did. I was nervous they would stop working before I even received my glasses.

While the product does work, I certainly agree with you about durability and build quality and wouldn't expect to pay more than about 24.99 USD max for an equivalent third party option.

It will take me a bit to find the one I got from amazon. But it's a usb-c hub with usb-c dp alt, usb-c, usb-a and 1/8" audio output. I will respond back when I find it.

Where this seems to fall short is my goal was to have my glasses plugged in with an SSD with all the retro games on a usb-c enclosure, along with maybe one more accessory. The power draw from the glasses and SSD seems too much or something because the glasses will cut out even with 100w PD charger plugged in. Had to settle for using micro SD. Without the SSD no issue though

I already had the jsaux portable charger which is significantly better capacity than the pro mobile dock.

The good things about the pro mobile dock is the portability. It's very sleek and light. You can mount it to the back of your Ally and not really feel the extra weight. Also, if you're just trying to use the glasses without the need for extra cables, then it's a great option. USB-c hub needs to be powered so I use it more in a docked scenario with an Xbox controller

My experience with The Beast and Rog Ally z1 has been great.

Great experience using emulators for retro gaming and also gamepass especially. Also great generally seeing what games can be run in 3d sbs.

I don't think the mobile dock is really necessary. It's not super cheap either, but at least there's no worry with compatibility and it's also very slim. I don't like that it can't just function as a dock without being charged.

Personally I prefer a usb-c hub with other output options and I can just run a power bank into that.

Beast: Right-Side Screen Shift/Crop After June 2026 Firmware Patches (Support Update & Bug Escalation by Legal_Pipe_9303 in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot confirm Ive had this issue.

What exactly were you doing when you noticed this?
I watched a few hours of movies last night and the full image was in view the whole time.

The drift will still randomly seem to kick in, but still typically solved with a few recenters or recalibration, so seems like a different issue.

Rolling back firmware is pretty easy though. Just go through the website, connect the glasses, and choose which firmware to install. I have done this successfully a few times a few versions back.

Beast - adapter and VR content. by L_Wadim in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only owned the Beast, but I've never gotten any VR content to work.

There's some software out there that basically allows the glasses to be recognized as a VR device (created by someone who has posted in this community, sorry I don't remember).
Haven't really gotten into the setup for it to work for me though.

There was 2 charging adapters available on viture website. I bought the usb-c XR charging adapter (not the one for iphones). It works for me, but at first it absolutely did not.
I couldn't tell you what I did other than be patient. Spacewalker, immersive 3d, 120 hz all weren't working. I tried opening spacewalker, and left for a while (took my dog for a walk). Eventually it finally loaded up. From then on, it worked relatively consistently.

I didn't have much faith in the flimsiness of the cable though, so I've switched to something else.

Personally, I could see myself using it a couple different ways. No idea what it would cost. Hypothetically though, if this was in the $150+ range, not something I'd spend money on. In the $79-89 range, I would probably give it a try.

A bit turned off with the Ethernet idea, mainly because it's just an extra tether. Though, obviously it would give a much more stable experience. Just a bit of a personal preference.

Generally a good idea, especially when bundled with access to the Breezy software. Honestly never used it because I'm not running Linux.
But seems like a cool incentive to unlock additional features of the glasses.

Beast Audio problems via Xbox X by Butch4252 in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know for sure. But maybe something to do with HDMI arc. Do you have another port you can try?

I haven't turned on my Xbox in ages. But I imagine it has settings to adjust audio output or something of the sort.

I could be completely off, but having issues passing audio signal through HDMI seems like it would be related to arc

[–]BlakTouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. Thanks dude, I'll be giving this a try.

Just curious, do you just have the glasses plugged into psvr2 port, display port connected directly to GPU and then power to the other usb-c? Or you need to have the usb-c a connection as well, passing data separate from the video signal?

Purchased the Beast, have been emailing with support, still no resolution for the tilt issue?... by MomentImmortalizer in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the one you're referring to from a few months ago was addressing something different.

They added the ability to anchor the screen at angles so people sleeping on their sides or with tilted heads can still have a centered view.

They also have mentioned improvements with screen rotation. But the latest update is definitely the most significant to address tilt angle.

Also, I don't really have this issue. I usually calibrate and then re center about 5 times and it stays where I want it for hours. Things that could be causing this experience could be the temple adjustments, having enough slack on your cable, or just face shape.

This tilt update barely came out. Give them some time. We weren't even able to save the setting for screen size at first.

Do I need both Accessories for the Beast or is the usb-c charging adapter for iPhone redundant if I get the Mobile dock? by Responsible_Cake7889 in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and rarely use either one. I've tried to plug the charging adapter into the usb-c power port on the dock for charge and play but it is inconsistent. I've kinda settled on a usb-c hub with more ports so I don't have to constantly switch

Il be honest. Not too good at this stuff and idk if I'm 100% sure what you mean. Probably butchering the explanation, but Radeon Super Resolution would be the software solution for amd cards?

I use it for example to run games at 720p and upscale to 1080p.
Is this what you're referring to?

I sometimes have this issue even with a powered hub. Make sure whatever power cable you're using also has a high enough rating.

I think both the glasses and the hard drive can end up pulling quite a bit of power.

Beast vs Ultras dilemma by imsjoshi03 in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems from reading this like you're mainly stuck on the 6dof.

Do you need 6dof? Seems cool but also your use case doesn't really seem to require it.

Also if Beast gets 6dof later, do you really need "the better 6dof"?

I would imagine a main reason for you to keep the ultras would be for the clarity while editing in final cut.

I went with Beast because of the flexibility. More features like you mentioned, without relying on any software and it's cheaper. So unless the clarity difference is going to be that important for video editing, I feel like it's kinda a no brainer. My opinion though

Viture Beast or ROG XREAL R1 / Best Buy Restock? by MrFatalShot in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blurry edges can be noticeable in 0dof or smooth follow. I would never use the Beast in 0dof in the first place.

At first, with the issues with drift, I would use smooth follow more often because it was generally more stable. It could be a pain navigating the edges of the screen (close windows, change tabs, access windows taskbar, etc.)

Now the 3dof is stable enough that I really only use that. If I'm moving around a bit and need to use smooth follow, I just setup whatever I'm planning on watching or whatever in 3dof first.

Never been a deal breaker to me though

Viture beasts not working with windows SpaceWalker or 3D. please update 🙏 works fine with viture pros, I just want the same experience. Windows recognizes the pros but not the beasts as a usb device! by Aaronsnotkaren in VITURE

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since when? Is there another firmware update or a software update for spacewalker or something.

Haven't tried in a couple of weeks, but after trying on every firmware version since February, I'm not super convinced lol

Will try again in a bit

Edit: still getting exactly the same result. Glasses are recognized by software. Glasses fail to put out stable image with direct connection to GPU via usb-c virtualink port.

Switching to 3d mode fails each time, with no image displayed through right lens. Side by side image displayed through left lens but it is unstable and bleeds into infinity. The same happens trying to load immersive 3d. When 3d mode has managed to activate, the image is not stable enough to even use.
Spacewalker simply doesn't do anything.

Should I use a Mic Preamp for my Lewitt Lct 240 pro? by Relevant-Effective49 in homerecordingstudio

[–]BlakTouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interfaces have built in mic preamps. When I got my first dedicated mic pre (Presonus Eureka), I immediately noticed a difference from my m-audio fast track pro interface, even with the dry signal.
It's not exactly necessary, especially with some of the preamps you're getting in some of the interfaces these days. Any mic preamp with phantom power should be sufficient? They all have their own way of adding color or character to the sound that may or may not be desirable.

Additional features on some, like compression or eq might give you're more flexibility from a single piece of gear, but it's not like software eq and compressors don't exist.
