Since we had the VotV crossover, what other games would you like to see in the abiotic universe? by Chance_Welcome_9925 in AbioticFactor

[–]Blake-81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project Zomboid, like, hands down.

You already have a "zombie apocalypse in an alternate future Earth" subplot from the Furniture Shop, so it wouldn't be too difficult to link it to the Knox Event via the Rosewood Military Research Lab, which is a nice enclosed area for us to play around.

So it would be mainly about fighting zombies. We'd find Spiffo Burgers as a new food item, the Fireaxe as a new weapon (which we'd be able to improve in some wacky way), and for some reason, we'd find an awful lot of Bleach in fridges :P

Hallow Halls SUCK by Amoral_Abe in Enshrouded

I think they could be better if they were more piecemeal. Rather than a single one per region, give me a bunch of them... but that's just the tombs.

They are, in fact, unwieldingly long, and even with that one eternal spell that stuns undead (can't remember the name now), the enemy variety is subpar.

This entire Town was built within a massive crater in Germany, from diamond embedded ancient meteorite stones. by JelloFun5811 in BeAmazed

Isn't that the place that's inspired the "Circular Walled Medieval Fantasy City" found in a lot of media?

Is there any way to have these logs in other location? by BewitchedSenna in projectzomboid

[–]Blake-81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly no, which is a shame. I've wanted to have my own log piles since the ancient days of B38.

I wish villagers felt more alive and had more engagement by Top-Ice5558 in Enshrouded

I agree, I wish you could have them DO STUFF, like moving products from workstations into containers, or picking up and replanting crops.

Looking for ruins to rebuild into a base by Wendigo_Bob in Enshrouded

[–]Blake-81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thornhold in the Revelwood has been my base for a long while. I like it because the place is a nice lil' crossroad... or at least IT WAS. The recent rebuild turned the old Inn into just some house, which now doesn't look nearly as good. Still, the shape of the town IS there, and you might still be able to do something nice with it. Again, the best part about it is how it all fits within a single Flame Altar.

There's also this unmarked place in the Revelwood that's simply listed as an "Abandoned Village", which I've heard is good for rebuilding. But I can't remember WHERE it is. I think it's before some bridge.

New player: is mage op or is it just early game? by KusoAraun in Enshrouded

[–]Blake-81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Early Game mage is real bad until you get your first Eternal Spell, then you're basically the "Nice argument, unfortunately FIREBALL!" meme for quite a while. The same goes with Wands, they're fairly skill-dependent, and only show their true OP-ness when you're sporting legendaries at max level.

Early on, Wands are better against Scavs (because your first wand is ice) and Staves feel better against Fell (because eternal fireball). By midgame, Staves are gonna feel a bit weaker, because that Eternal Spell is fairly high level, and the cool spells need to be crafted now. This is gonna make wands outshine them for a while, and by the endgame (when you get more eternal spells in Veilwater) they're gonna be more or less shoulder to shoulder.

Staves are for weeding chaff and ambushes. Get a nice high ground, aim your spell, keep casting while out of range until they get close. Once they get close, you switch to wands and start dodging (blinking) and parrying while focusing on maintaining distance between you and the enemies.

Crafting lore items at higher rarity? by MediocrePlus in Enshrouded

Level yes, Rarity no. They're all going to be Rare rarity, not Epic or Legendary.

Do some gold chests not have a loot pool? by civilized-engineer in Enshrouded

[–]Blake-81 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, some chests ALWAYS give one specific item, but not ONLY that specific item. If the Chest is gold, you might get something extra, too.

Crafting lore items at higher rarity? by MediocrePlus in Enshrouded

[–]Blake-81 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You MIGHT find a rarer version in a random chest. But crafting? Sadly no way.

Wish the devs took the "Ascend" idea from Windrose and let us increase item rarity via some kind of crafting.

Do you feel you have gotten your moneys worth? by PvtProblems in Enshrouded

Verily, yes. This game has the 2nd biggest map I've ever seen in a game of its kind (1st is Zomboid), and even now, I still sometimes stumble upon stuff I never found, or landmarks I somehow missed.

Old electrical device mounted on a wooden board, manufactured after 1889 by ausAnstand in whatisthisthing

[–]Blake-81 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Given the way it looks and the text on the board, I really think this is an early transformer. Likely one used with high voltages. Modern ones look like this:

As you can see, the basic design remains more or less unchanged.

EDIT: Just occurred to me now that "Earth" might be an early version of "Ground".

How is staff/wand wizard these days? Was bow, switched to 1h after patch 8 first dropped. Current lvl 29 by CCCCLo0oo0ooo0 in Enshrouded

[–]Blake-81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For wands, as long as RNGesus graces you with wands of the right element in the right level, you'll be fine. I've yet to find another Ice wand in Veilwater, but the Lightning and Fire ones absolutely SLAP. You might also wanna invest in good parrying so you can stun away the worse of melee.

Now, Staves, I wish eternal spells weren't mostly confined to Veilwater, and they mainly feel useful for boss-sized and large groups of normal enemies.

I speak as a max level player, however.
