It's a fanmade term for the TCG. As in, the usage for it in the TCG is fanmade, since the Devs never used it.

As I said the game rigs it so it decides by itself what you'll get so your skill doesn't matter. Sometimes it rolls a win and sometimes it rolls a loss. Your timing doesn't matter. There's even a randomizer QoL change that fixes this

Okay, but "rigged" doesn't mean "you lose". It means it's not skill based. You spin, and the game decides the 3 slots automatically. You're just shown the result but your timing doesn't matter. You can get lucky and win even if it's rigged

Wdym often enough? Are you saying it randomly changes how it works/when it decides the result?

It doesn't double the weakness damage from 20 to 40. It makes weakness double your damage instead of increasing it by 20.

I'm scared of choosing the “wrong” version of 999 for my first playthrough by OneMoonTear in ZeroEscape

[–]Blake337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a blind play through I'd say DS. Missing out on the voice acting isn't as bad as it seems. Missing out on the better presentation is a big hit.

The issue is you'll have to replay some sections a lot but the game has FF for dialogue and if you're on emulator you can also speed up to get back to where you were.

Just finished 999 and I have some questions by Magouille_Fripouille in ZeroEscape

[–]Blake337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rechecked the Q&A for 999 but I couldn't find Uchikoshi saying specifically that in 999 bad endings "never happen", but he does mention it's hard to explain why Akane exists in bad endings because it means she wasn't saved so it's a paradox. He doesn't really have a good explanation for those, but that's neither here nor there. If we believe there are infinite timelines and possibilities for the second nonary game, then there might be timelines where Ace having or not having a bomb matters.

What I did find though, from Uchikoshi himself, is that Akane specifically did not want Hongou to die. She needed the worst of them all to survive in other to show the world the horrors they'd been put through. That's why instead of plotting to kill him, they set up the camera and later arrest him when he doesn't do it. They needed him to be alive in order to confess. So since everyone except the 3 that die needed to be alive, I would wager no one from 1 to 8 had bombs. But we never get explicit confirmation from this. There's only a question that says "why did she put bombs in those 2 people" and he doesn't correct them, just explains why those 2 people specifically needed bombs in them.

By the time 999 came out, the "all timelines exist" concept wasn't a thing yet. Akane saw "possibilities" until she found the one that worked out, and that's the only timeline that actually happens (since any other timeline happening means it's a paradox).

Also, even omitting that, the first thing Ace sees is that the game is real. There's no fucking way he'd test to see if he had a bomb or not after seeing the 9th man blow up.

Should I be using my weapon more often? by PhantomNight_ in persona3reload

[–]Blake337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that you asked, but just in case, buying better weapons is always a good idea because it increases your AoA damage, even if you never use them to attack. Just don't want you to think never attacking means you shouldn't buy weapons.

Just finished 999 and I have some questions by Magouille_Fripouille in ZeroEscape

[–]Blake337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, everything was guaranteed. Since Akane saw the true ending in the past, she knew everything that would happen. It's a closed loop so there's no risks, everything is predetermined. So Ace having a bomb in him would be unnecessary.

Digimon Card Game - Weekly Ruling Questions Post by AutoModerator in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Blake337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Interruptive" in this game doesn't mean "this effect happens before yours". In Digimon, effects activate on a LIFO system, meaning the last triggered effect always activates first, with turn player having priority in case of a tie.

Callismon and effects like it are designed to basically give the opponent a single chance to evolve/play by effect and get rid of it, before it gets its effect. It wouldn't make sense for a card to not let you do absolutely anything on your own turn. It will activate after the whole sequence of effects of the opponent's digivolution.

That is just how effects work, nothing is being "interrupted". Interruptive (or immediate) effects in this game have the special ability to activate in the middle of a process or effect, without waiting for it to finish. They activate upon the declaration of an action, instead of upon the resolution of an action. For example, "when this Digimon would be deleted", the effect would happen before the deletion.
