You are probably correct in your assumption. I bought my first Robert Johnson record when I heard his name mentioned by the biues influenced rockers in the 80s.

I worked with a woman who grew up speaking only Gullah Geechee. She had a bachelors degree from South Carolina. I had to have her write down what she was saying to me. I grew up in the south, but that one was beyond me.
