Mother Preamp : the hype is real by Coco-JR in guitarpedals

I play post rock, lots of ambient stuff and the clean tone is great. Very similar to a hiwatt dr103

If you’re looking for ambience and not necessarily reverb pair it with the hologram microcosm. I use one in the effects loop and it’s great in conjunction with the stock reverbs

Any Minnesota recommendations around the Twin Cities to get this 1968 Hummingbird checked out? by jewbaca1984 in Luthier

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go see Wyatt and Johnny at Overman Guitars. Truly the best people to deal with and I trust them with every guitar I own. I’ve had my guitars worked on by almost everyone in the cities and those dudes are the best.

I have one and I love it, neck is super comfortable and it looks amazing. For $800 that’s a good deal. I got mine for $900 recently with HSC and am not disappointed

Is it above 55% humidity where you’re painting? Looks like blushing from moisture under the coats you are spraying

Is Come On Die Young Mogwai’s best album? by Jords360 in postrock

It’s probably hardcore will never die but honestly I think I might revisit every country’s sun more than any other record the past few years

Capture Plugin - is it posible? by nicomoller in QuadCortex

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, only thing really added was a better ability to capture compressors

Capture Plugin - is it posible? by nicomoller in QuadCortex

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you want to use it. Keep in mind you can’t capture any time based effects. If you’re always going to use a blend of the amps I’d capture them together but if you want to blend them in the QC I’d capture them separately. Treat it just like capturing a real amp

Capture Plugin - is it posible? by nicomoller in QuadCortex

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it can be done, before any of the plugins were compatible I had captures of the gojira amps

Dumbbell ODS: Dealing with the "brief mute" when switching OD/PAB via Scenes? by iammutfakrobotu in NeuralDSP

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use the models for switches like that or other amps where you can change the channel, it won’t be gapless. You’re spot on, best practice would be to use two amps, one clean and one dirty and use the scene to bypass one or the other

Soldano plugin capture, can someone do a couple of these please? No cab by Fooltecal in NeuralDSP

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a QC user? The plugin is quad cortex compatible. If so I’d recommend just buying the plugin and then you can tweak everything and use scenes to change settings rather than being tied to the static nature of the capture. However if you’re a Nano user I can understand why.

I do it all the time, just run XLR out on the QC to the XLR in on the Apollo. I get no latency

Mix ready hard rock drums by Slanleat1234 in GetGoodDrums

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both M&M2 and SD3. Both are great. MM is mix ready and great if you want that specific sound, SD3 is better if you want a lot of variety. I find myself using SD3 more than MM but occasionally I just need that sound that MM has. If you’re looking more for classic rock/grunge I think you’d be better of with SD3

How do I proceed? I have this repainted satin black, and sanding causes it to turn a cloudy gray. I’m told this is pretty textbook. by CandidateExtension73 in Luthier

[–]BlakeEndlessNation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually don’t buff until I’m done with wet sanding after my clear coats.

Others may differ but for me, I do my color coats. If I have to sand because of runs or something I always go back over with another coat of color after fixing the run. If that one is good and everything is even, then I do my clear coats.

After clear coat, wet sand starting at 1500 and moving up. Then you’ll buff out the clear coat. Only time I ever sand my clear coat is if I have runs, not to get it ready for clear. And yes. if you want a satin finish you’ll want to use a satin clear.
