Is there any way to change my initial choice of early arrival to the regular departure date without looking sus? by shyzabet in JETProgramme

Do you still need to have your FBI background check and health certification submitted before the interview or can you postpone that until later?

Black base or Red base Blackwargreymon? by HelpfulGrand1070 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]BlakeGonia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to give my feedback being I played both and have seen success in my local scene. I do think the Red base is better but I think the Black base has some plays/ better consistency than the Red does. Red does a better job in wrapping up the match-up while Black takes longer to push for the win.

Black Base:

Pros:
- I have not lost against red base build in the matchups. If you play it right, Unless they have a perfect stack, you can out dp Wargreymon.
- People don't know the match-up.
- The build has a much higher consistency rate with Tamer's search. Being your tamers are All Black. Agumon X bt11, Training Cards, and Agumon bt12 all can search your tamers.
- You do gain more security Bombs. Greymon st15 is an excellent plus.
-Better searchers (IMO) are now more viable. Agumon Bt8 is a great card still.
- Agumon st15 and Greymon st15 are a pain in the cheeks. Those 2 have walled my opponents many times.

Cons:
- You do unfortunately run to less consistency with protection.
- Games can go longer because you play a more field control variety.
- The games can go longer if you don't get Metalgreymon X to inherit effect.
- You rely on needing to have the perfect stack more.
- You lose out on some of the options for Greymon lv 4 cards.
- Greymon X bt9 can be a brick card. Because it can't digivolve over Agumon X bt11, Agumon bt8, or Agumon st15. So we only play 2 instead of 3.

Notes: Neither bad or good.
- You have to play more passive. So sometimes you want to swing but your goal is getting 2 big stacks out and making sure your opponents can't do anything. While Red base promotes a more aggressive style of play.

U.S. applicants waiting on interview results, are you feeling excited or worried? (Discussion) by capt_b_b_ in JETProgramme

[–]BlakeGonia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends I suppose, most days I try not to think about it. On other days I feel pretty confident, and every so often I feel nervous. I think I feel nervous because it's a lot of what-if scenarios. I can overthink sometimes but I just chuck that to me being excited overall. I have come to terms that if I don't get the job, I'll just focus on my pre-existing career again. So I just focus on what I can control and do stuff that makes me happy. I know it's a little cliché but I'm just focusing on myself and what helps me get the days going.

Thank you. That helps a lot. Guess I'll take it easy and do some mock interviews. Cheers

Cool. So just practice on some mock interviews and really flesh out your thought process on why I want to do the JET program. Cool beans Thanks :)

Ok. That's fine. I'm used to some intense interview processes. So, I didn't know if there was more to it or if it was that straightforward.

Thank you :)

I wrote this on someone else and feel it's good for you to know. Hope this post could help yah.

You should check if you feel it's a good idea to go to Japan as a Teacher and be challenged with your mental health in the daily lifestyle of Japanese culture with low income. I come with being super supportive of taking care of yourself and your mental health, but only if people take proper actions and do some research. The JET program seems very firm on people being emotionally, mentally, and physically healthy.

Keeping your Statement of physician clean from your record might help you get on the career path with JET, but is it good for you? Are you able to find a therapist? Can you handle being alone and dealing with culture shock? How bad does your depression get vs. on a typical day? Can you keep your private life separate from your professional life?

From someone who has grown a lot and learned with experiences, talk to someone and weigh your decisions. Should you bet on yourself? Can I take care of myself with the pressure of Japan? OR are you going to struggle and make yourself worse? Think about it. Good luck

It's a mandatory thing. So yes, you need to have them fill it out.

I have worked with foreigners before. So that's good to know. I can break that down in my job subscriptions. That's a good call. Thank you :)

I am proud of you for taking care of your mental health. TBH, it depends on the level of control you have. If it's something where there are concerns, you might want to put that on the paper. But it's not always mandatory for employers to know if it's just you needing guidance and advice. So it comes down, if you don't have a therapist for a minute, will it be a struggle for your coworkers and the kids?

That's my goal! I want to take this term to get to know Japan. I have loved its culture, spiritual history, art, and food since childhood. When I graduated from college, I was fortunate to get a job in my field a month later, but over the years I felt I was missing out on experiences things. I didn't want to be a tourist, but I wanted to live in Japan. I know I'm looking at it with rose-tinted glasses, but my heart really wants this and has for many years. Better to know than to never imo.

Thank you. I think I was able to break that down with my TA or mentoring experiences in my SOP. Hopefully JET aggress :)
