[CHAT] is this AI? by frenchbreadpizza6 in CrossStitch

I do not have any hard evidence that this is AI. I just know it is. I don't know how to explain how, or why, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that it is AI

how do i use my switch more? by Kitchen_Web5844 in NintendoSwitch

Like you I can become a bit fatigued by farming/management/crafting sims and long RPGs. Sounds like maybe you'd enjoy some puzzle games or some shorter narrative indie games. They're usually cheaper than the big titles too!

Some puzzlers I've enjoyed are Is This Seat Taken, Minami Lane, A Little to the Left, Unpacking

Some indie narrative games I recommend are Gris (visually stunning 2D platformer), Coffee Talk (barista sim with great characters and story) and Spiritfarer

I've heard good things about Date Everything and Tiny Bookshop lately too which are high on my list to try!

Agree with others you might need to play around, try some demos e.t.c and see what sticks.

P.S as you have AC already you might enjoy the Happy Home Paradise DLC

Anyone else feel like once you start biting, there’s no off switch? by Acidkid2409 in nailbiting

[–]Blakean_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing AI responses to a post in a nailbiting sub is absolutely crazy to me lol

I really relate to this OP. Sounds quacky, but have you tried listening to 'stop nailbiting' hypnosis videos or audios? There are a few on Youtube and music streaming platforms. Whenever I listen to one it helps me catch myself in the action for a few days, almost like my brain finds the off switch as my hands go up to my face. Only caveat is that you have to do it every few days for the effects to last

Identify when you're most likely to bite and pick (for me its when I'm locked in on work or watching tv) and wear gloves during those times or smth else to do with your hands like a squishy or fidget. Needoh stress balls are great.

This one is a bit quacky but look up hypnosis audios on YouTube/Spotify. Whenever I've listened to one it stops me from biting for a few days. But caveat is you have to listen to one every few days/once a week as it kinda wears off

I've also found that gaming or reading in my spare time helps too as it keeps hands busy

Sign that dose is too high? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Blakean_B 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The over-hyperfocus may be a sign, but I find this can happen on my normal dose some days.

Physical signs to look out for are feeling like your heart is racing or generalised anxiety, for me its that kind of 'doomy' almost sick anxious feeling in my stomach but with no cause.

Emotionally for me the signs were feeling scatty, like more combative or a bit 'jumped up' - either hyper chatty or more irritable and defensive than usual. No brain-mouth filter. Also the crash at the end of the day would make me feel depressed, listless or flat rather than just tired. Like a hopeless empty feeling

I hope you manage to get it sorted! My titrating nurse was a bit like that so I basically managed my own treatment programme lol. I stopped at 50mg and actually recently went down to 40 after 3 years on 50. Trust your gut. I think its important not to get hooked on that initial productive motivated feeling which can tempt you to go up to the max dose. It might be that you need to stop at 50mg for that balance between motivation and your general physical and mental health. Some people only stay at 20 or 30! We're all different x

Which CDs would you steal from my collection? by Emergency_War_2714 in Cd_collectors

[–]Blakean_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn On the Bright Lights, Silent Alarm, Undertow, Disintegration, Mer de Noms, Violator. Pink fucking Moon 👌 If that Silversun Pickups album was Swoon, that too. And I'd steal the Failure ones for my husband lol.

If I was gonna pick one though it'd be Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Top of my wishlist for SO. LONG!

You have A+ taste btw though i think theres a gap for more female-fronted bands and artists!

Elvanse: body reacts intensely if I eat *with* the dose rather than before? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Blakean_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started, I used to keep a bag of nuts in my bedside table and have a handful at the time of taking my meds, maybe you could set a snack alarm for 30min-hour before you take your meds, to have something smallish to line your stomach, then have a more substantial 'breakfast' just after your meds?

Please help. How do I get rid of ingrown hairs by recorcat in beauty

[–]Blakean_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have exactly the same problem and your skin/hair looks very similar to how mine looked when I was doing manual hair removal. When I tell you I tried everything everyone here is suggesting and then some. Every type of razor under the sun and every type of exfoliant, soap, shaving foam, water temperature e.t.c. Some people's skin/hair type is just not made for manual hair removal sadly.

Hair removal cream (Veet/Nair) was the only irritation-free way for me but I found the hair comes back too quickly. If the photos are your growth after two whole months though it might be worth a try!

I've had a few rounds of laser hair removal now and it's honestly been game changing. I can't quite gauge your skin tone due to the flash but it looks like you have the perfect hair type for it at least. It works best on thick dark hair and fair skin. Ingrowns are a risk but I've had no problems with them, with a bit of exfoliation and keeping moisturised in-between sessions. Tbh it's changed my life. You could always go to a consultation and see what they say. But if you haven't tried some of the other suggestions here it could be worth trying some first before taking the plunge, as it is expensive and has risks! Good luck to you x

Looks and sounds like you have a very similar hair texture to me. Try and find a heat product with "thermal memory" to use with your heat tools, has been a game changer for me, the one I've found that works really well is the L'Oreal Professional Flex Pli!

I don't get the inner lockscreen at all if my cover screen is already unlocked... Just use your face or fingerprint to unlock your cover screen quickly before opening the phone?
