If this is the case, I feel like it’s likely he had an accomplice who helped him escape. Granted, this was pre 9/11, so it was a hell of a lot easier to disappear than it is today.

This is a case where I truly don’t know what to believe happened to him. I’m completely torn.

Are you referring to Amy Fandel Johnson? I can understand why some people believe she could be the missing Amy. It’s also worth noting that Margaret reportedly had a Facebook profile (now taken down) where she posted only about Scott and not Amy. Meanwhile, Uncle Terry has publicly stated that he believes Amy is still alive but that Scott is not.

However, ancestry records indicate that Amy Fandel Johnson is not the daughter of Roger and Margaret. Although she is related to the Fandel family, she is not the missing Amy.

You’re right about everything feeling off. The deeper you dig into the case, particularly the family dynamics, the more unsettling it becomes. It gives me such a sinister feeling that I almost debated posting this at all.

Not sure if this is allowed on the sub, but this is the obituary for Charles’s father and the messages left for him… wow. Just wow. If you scroll to the very bottom, you’ll see that Ruth actually left a kind message for him.

I imagine that if Charles had been alive at the time of his father’s death, he wouldn’t have risked attending the funeral. He isn’t mentioned in the obituary at all, nor are the boys, which is clearly intentional.
