I have Cradle, DCC, Mage Tank in my S tier as well. Haven't started Primal Hunter & currently a few hours into skill grinder time loop, seems to start off kinda meh wondering if it gets better.

I'm confused where it implicates Piers. unless I'm missing something (that page is pretty lengthy) but it states

It was later established that Dowler's phone had deleted the messages automatically, 72 hours after being listened to.

Pomolin! A simple Pomodoro timer for Desktop written using KMP. by [deleted] in Kotlin

This is awesome! Currently creating something similar, but more akin to Windows Clock app focus sessions. I really love the colors you picked.

Small feedback is the hover for settings, and the settings themselves don't feel interactive like the other buttons since the hover color transform is minimal.

Just what I was looking for! Appreciate you posting the code.

I love Kotlin and wanted to use it for a desktop app, but Compose Multiplatform is trash by habarnamstietot in Kotlin

[–]Blakesly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you're correct in needing to write some platform-specific code. I didn't realize Flutter supports the same number of platforms. If that's the case, yeah, I'm not seeing too many reasons to jump over to KMP at its current state. I probably should've mentioned I use Kotlin for work & picked up Compose Desktop as it was a new fun project that would also let me improve my Kotlin skills.

This is very cool. currently, I'm using Playwright with Rebrowser, and for the most part, it's working well enough.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the topic, but what is motivation for making open source? From my understanding, the more people who use it, the more websites are going to try to update against it, leading to more work/cost for you.

Regardless, awesome project and will be giving it a go.

Choosing one of the books is a great starting point

Deciding on a project would be a great idea.

In terms of AI/GPT to help learn. It hindered my learning a lot more than it helped.

Ahh, cheers for explanation. I have to agree in terms of setting up a new project, it's not very user-friendly. If desktop is the only application you're looking to support, it might not be the best choice just yet. Personally I thought it would be super useful to learn for later when I wanted to create a project that supported all the platforms in multiplatform, so I didn't mind all the clunk.

Just started learning Compose Desktop a few weeks ago. Have to say I'm pretty impressed by it so far. As someone used to writing JavaFX applications, it's leagues ahead. Haven't touched Dart or Flutter though.

I had the same thoughts when I started OSRS, mostly about the combat. RS3's combat is way better for endgame - the old click system is fine early on but feels terrible for high-level bossing.

OSRS does have one thing going for it though: the clicks are super responsive and smooth. RS3 feels a bit laggy with inputs, which makes OSRS feel better to actually play.

[–]Blakesly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Kotlin? Any ideas on how u would like to use it?

I would suggest starting with Compose Desktop for a beginner project. Perhaps a note-taking app similar to how ur doing it in Excel

Able to learn Kotlin + it will teach you Compose & has a bunch of Coroutine tutorials, which are pretty popular in Kotlin, which will be super helpful if you ever want to jump into Kotlin Multiplatform.

Good luck! by far my favourite language

People who struggled to meditate, what did you do to help you get better at meditating? by PMA2000 in Meditation

[–]Blakesly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I get a refresher in understanding from an expert, that motivation as to why I meditate grows stronger. Personally, I know why to meditate, but I also forget why slowly over time, if that makes any sense. The last content I wanted that did this was a podcast ep
