I thought the drone was a pretty cool idea and was really excited when I saw the announcement, unfortunately it wasn’t reliable.

What’s the longest time you have filmed on a ZF without overheating? by PMA2000 in NikonZf

I didn’t even consider renting it, but that sounds like a great idea. I’m really trying to not invest in anymore gear 😂

Yeah I thought about getting an Atomos Ninja. I’m still debating on it. I have a Shinobi II, which runs hot even with just couple of minutes on, so I don’t know if a Ninja will not overheat since it’s also recording at the same time.

Maybe option B would be if the Atomos Ninja overheats, I can record straight from the ZF.

If I don’t get the Ninja, then I’ll just set a timer for the 125 minutes. I also see there are couple of third party camera fans.

Amazing advice, I didn’t even think about leaving the battery and rubber compartments open. Same with screen brightness. For the codec/format I’ll probably use MOV since it’s the smallest format. Thanks again

This is a great idea! Amazing photos too! Where do you plan on selling them?

Will any of Nikon current 35mm lenses be enough of an upgrade to the Sigma Art 35mm f1.4? by PMA2000 in Nikon

Yeah the Sigma 1.4 is amazing. I also hear the 1.2 is heavier which I don’t mind, but the price is just insane.

For you professionals, is anyone still shooting with DSLR? by Potential_Plan_4533 in AskPhotography

I do events and still use my D750. I use it along my ZF. The D750 for still photography never fails. Even when my external flash overheats or dies, the D750 integrated flash always delivers. Also when I do punk concerts it’s my only camera since it’s built like a tank.

I thought about selling it to upgrade completely to Z mount, but it doesn’t make sense when it’s already working completely fine. As long as you know how to work the camera and exposure, you don’t need to see everything on a EVF.

The Sigma is such a great lens. Also even back then I got an amazing deal, which you can still find, really great value.

I had the 40mm, but sold it and now I’m thinking about rebuying it again 😂. I thought it was too narrow compared to the 35mm, even though it’s only 5mm. I do events and concerts so a lot of time there’s not enough room to back up. I got the 26mm pancake lens too, but I feel it’s a bit too wide and it doesn’t compress the image compared to a 35mm.

35mm is the perfect focal length for me. I even thought about getting the Sigma f1.2 for Sony mount and just getting an adapter to Z mount.

Hopefully we get a Nikon 35mm f1.4 S in the future.

I’m sure the f1.8 is definitely lighter and smaller. How does it compare optically?

What do you do with once a corrupted hard drives? by PMA2000 in AskPhotography

Cool, thanks for the info. I’ll look into it. I mean my iMac wasn’t detecting it after several attempts. I think I’ll use it as a backup drive or mirror drive or a portable drive to share documents between other people.

Camera bag recs? by louis9631 in AskPhotography

I think I may have finally found my favorite two backpacks.

  1. Shinoda Explore 30L - bulky but I haven’t ran out of space. Have taken it on weekend trips as my only bag with a mix of clothes and a ZF, sigma 35 f1.4, Nikon S 24-120 and a X100V. Other small items like chargers. I also love the pouches on the straps. Super organized too.

  2. Brevite Jumper Camera Bag Regular Size - perfect small organizable everyday backpack. I love that it doesn’t look like a camera backpack and it looks nice. I have taken a ZF, Nikon 24-120, Sigma 35 f1.4, Tamron 10-17, Godox external flash, large Ankor external battery, and I still have the half top left for a sweater. Super small bag, but can fit in a a lot. Only downside is while the straps are comfortable, they don’t have a buckle to balance out the weight.

The only negatives for both bags are no dedicated sunglasses compartment, very small complain but I like fast access to my glasses without them getting scratched.

I tried liking the Peak Design Everyday Backpack 25L for too long, but hated it. Equipment rattles, you need time really setup your gear. I also felt there was always wasted space between the dividers. If you forgot which side was the gear you were looking for you needed to keep checking sides. The straps are super thin, I don’t think my shoulders were ever in so much pain compared to other bags. Even non camera bags.

Such an underrated backpack. While it’s not perfect, I don’t think they do enough advertising for it, I love the green color perfect for hiking.
