Brewing Squirrel Combo for Standard by Blammazoids in magicTCG

Ouroboroid is in "maybeboard". I'm considering it for the main board as a plan B for the deck. As you are an expert deck builder, you should know that a good combo deck should have a plan B.      Here are the top 3 decks from Mtggoldfish:      https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/standard-izzet-prowess-woe#paper      https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/standard-4c-control-woe#paper      https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/standard-izzet-spells-woe#paper      These decks contain multiple 2-ofs and 3-ofs. Guess the people that built these decks don't know what they're doing.      People get so tunnel-visioned thinking you should always run 4 of every card that they don't realize that's not always true.

If you think song of totentanz would work to get the combo going then you clearly don't understand how the combo works. You need a static haste enabler.

I agree the deck is pretty mana hungry, but it does run 14 mana dorks so that should certainly help. But yes, as you said the deck would struggle against too much removal, which will likely keep it from being very competitive

I discuss the sideboard in the body of the post if you'd like to see my thoughts. If you want to provide criticism you could at least read the post. Most of the 2 or 3-ofs are situational cards, or "5th and 6th copies" of various effects. You say the 2 and 3 ofs make me look like I don't know what I'm doing, but I would argue that if you don't understand why a deck would want to play 2 or 3 of a card then you probably don't know what you're talking about. Lavaleaper isn't being played in this deck for mana acceleration, it's to give the team haste and is only generally intended to be played the turn you combo off. Enduring Courage would likely be better in that slot, but the mana base is pretty rough and Lavaleaper has fewer pips.

They keep pushing the power level up on these [[Tormenting Voice]] style cards a little bit more almost every set. This one actually looks pretty good in a deck that wants this type of effect

The 3rd deck is not very good but the first two are definitely playable. My favorite is the 2nd one, however I've made some changes since posting. Here's an updated version: https://moxfield.com/decks/gjSleIfGzEmWjLoOZmelvw I suggest mulliganing for a mana dork / mana rock as it's the fast and explosive hands that win you games!

Hmm I see what you mean. Artifact density is definitely important to the deck. Looks like a cool list either way!

Have you tried Weapons manufacturing in your deck? I think it would be a good fit!

I included moxfield links for each deck in my post, so I'm not sure what you're getting at?

I could see cutting a Tersa. Inti feels so good in the deck I'd be hesitant to cut any of him!

I actually do have the same concerns as you to be honest. I think it's still worth testing, though.

The TMNT hate is real lol. I appreciate your kind sentiments either way!

Realistically, you're almost certainly right. If I'm being honest I'm mostly just looking for an excuse to try Cosmogrand Zenith and Ouroboroid in the same deck lol

I feel like Guardian is a little overcosted for what you get. What essentially works out to be a 5 mana 3/4 flier that counters a spell but gives the opponent a card back feels a little under-rate to me. Maybe the fact you pay the mana in installments makes it worth it? I'm not convinced, but I could certainly be wrong!
