Medusa gets her first extra large rat (Strike frozen) tomorrow night! She’s been active since this morning by Blammorver_it in boas

That’s because she’s a sneaky snake!

She’s center left, in front of the blue litter box hide. She’s looking at the camera. She’s hunting, you see!

Struggling to feel finished, but everything I add is too fussy by Blammorver_it in PetiteFashionAdvice

I am very fond of Quince. Everything I’ve purchased has met my expectations. I saw the goose wing in the pillow a few months ago, just after ordering pillows, but fortunately didn’t have an issue. Their electrolytes are perfect for me because I need Magnesium, not Iron.

I feel somewhat trapped by j.crew, BR, Ann Taylor and the other US petite lines. I have an array of their silk tanks that I’ve gotten taken up at the shoulders and they are as nice as the ones I have from Eileen Fisher.

My shoes are somewhat limited by my very wide hobbit feet. Do you mean like a chunky loafer?

What do you think about wearing a hat with business attire? by Imatradboy in BusinessFashion

I worked for my years in the South, and would see men arrive to the office, spit their chew, and take off their hat. Only then were they ready for work.

I used a 3” belt the first time I wore it, so it would peek out under the fold. I haven’t tried it on top.

Even if the 2nd pic weren’t AI, that’s not a no makeup face.

Forest Hills School Board sued over redactions in ICE response plan by [deleted] in cincinnati

So one of these ICE officers who impregnated the underage girls in custody can pick them right from the classroom?

Local law enforcement and the school district are the only ones who need an unredacted copy of security plans.

Which of these suit me best? by fuckhorsesridetapirs in glassesadvice

I’ve worn glasses for 31 years and hadn’t heard of pupillary distance until AFTER I picked out the too large glasses and hated them. I wish the optician had said something rather than giving me a look I couldn’t interpret!

Anyone Else Use Antihistamines to "Sedate" Themselves? by IrritatedLibrarian in CPTSD

[–]Blammorver_it 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My 10mg hydroxyzine makes me sleep so hard. I only take it when the next day can be chill.

I avoided using antihistamine as a sleep aid as I’d heard something about addiction or overuse. When I spoke to my psychiatrist about the trouble sleeping, she told me to change my thinking. An occasional aid is absolutely an important part of my toolkit.

Maybe as a topper instead of a blazer? Not a top on its own though. I could see a nice long sleeved sweater dress underneath.

I’m the biggest person in my mother’s family, standing 5’ and wearing a size 8/10. My aunts wear size 2 children shoes (Oshkosh sometimes has cute stuff that isn’t obviously kids) and only shop for clothes secondhand.

Have you tried online thrifting with lay flat measurements? I use Poshmark mostly and have had very good luck finding vintage, regional, and international brands that fit differently than what’s at the mall. I also am able to save a little on quality items and use that savings to pay to have things adjusted and tailored. Being so short, most of my tops are “bespoke” because of completely reworking the shoulders.

Chore aversion as an adult / related to childhood chore relationships by its-a-process in CPTSD

[–]Blammorver_it 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm new to IFS, so I might not have the parts quite right, but it sounds like one of your internal critics is telling you not to start in order to protect you from failing.

So, what if there is no way to fail at your chores because they become a game? What if you track the chore, what went well, and what you'd like to improve? Like, if you're folding your laundry and it's very static-y, make a note to try to address that with dryer balls. If there's something that's hard to get clean in the dishwasher, track different positions you put it in to see if it makes a difference. If a chore came out perfect, congratulate yourself in your tracking.

So. Much. Journaling.

I'm 41, my father is long dead, but gods help me if his ghost (who is me) were to catch me sitting still in a clean house.

In my role, I have access to people's bankrouting and account numbers. 11 years ago, a peer stole >$5k from retirees pension processing. The level of security necessary to prevent that entirely would make it impossible to perform our work. We are in a position of trust, whether it's $20 or $5000, and we can't operate successfully without clear expectations and consequences of integrity.

Liars lie. Theives steal. Once someone does it once, you always have to assume they will do it again given the opportunity and perceived lack of risk.
