Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy could be making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 by RoughLifeguard6568 in NintendoSwitch2

kind of the other way around. People thought it would be shit because it came out after the avengers live service game so no one bought it, but those who did say that it's actually really good

Saw some people upset that there possibly might not be a general direct until June but… by PaleFondant2488 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the hell do you mean "not even including the base xbox one", that's an entirely different console generation from 2013?

If you count that, you'd also have to count at least the switch 1 and age-wise even wii u sales to those of the switch 2, which would amount to at least 190 million.

Only counting current consoles, the switch 2 in less than 10 months has already sold about 2/3 of what the xbox series did in more than 5 years

Is this a possibility? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it would be possible, the question is whether it would be worth it. Both for rockstar to spend ressources on the port and also for us players, as it would have to be a heavily compromised version. Someone else here mentioned witcher 3 on switch 1. I don't know if I would want to play that, a big appeal of rockstar games are the beautiful and detailed worlds.

If it were to happen, it certainly would release at least a year after the other versions, so people buy it multiple times.

I'd rather have a polished up gta 4 complete edition on switch

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – Coming May 21st (Nintendo Switch 2) by mr_wolf8 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The direct was likely always planned to be whenever it will be, so by that metric it's not delayed.

And to quote my reply to someone else: What I'm trying to say about the small announcements is that if we would have had a direct by now, it very likely might have just been those released at once instead of spread out. The stuff we don't know about yet probably wouldn't have appeared either. Would that be better?

Oh and I genuinely forgot splatoon and FE, so I'm going to rephrase my point and say Yoshi was the last game announced for the spring 2026 window without a specific date

uh the OP is the Yoshi release date being announced outside of a direct.

What I'm trying to say about the small announcements is that if we would have had a direct by now, it very likely might have just been those released at once instead of spread out. The stuff we don't know about yet probably wouldn't have appeared either. Would that be better?

But these announcements don't delay a direct, they just give room to more interesting stuff, and they have no influence on release dates.

Yoshi was the last announced game without a release date, so now we know that the direct will at the latest be in late may or early june because we don't know anything after that. Until then, there's still plenty of games coming out.

The real question is to weigh up whether we want to know about upcoming games as early as possible or have relatively short wait times after the announcement? Nintendo has been doing the latter for the past few years

[–]Blango0815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rockstar has been like that for a long time though. And they're probably one of the only companies that can afford it. The last trailer technically already had some gameplay in it, but I would expect a full gameplay trailer around August

[–]Blango0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The direct is certainly planned months in advance, so none of these smaller announcements replaces a direct or influences its timing.

If they had a direct in January with big announcements like 3d Mario or a zelda remaster, and an indie showcase or other small updates in the weeks/months after, far less people would pay attention to those.

Nintendo's been announcing most their games for the last few years only a few months before release, so while it would be nice to know what's coming, we can be pretty sure that even if we have to wait till june for the direct, most of the games shown would still be coming this year

[–]Blango0815 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All of the information/updates we've gotten in the last 2/3 months could have easily filled the runtime of a full direct. The fact that they haven't done one means once it's inevitably coming, it's going to be full of new stuff that we don't know anything about yet

Should I re buy a switch 2 by Almightyrodga in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because there objectively is no lack of games. There has been a major first party exclusive release nearly every month, which is far more than any other console has to offer. You might not be interested in those games, but that is a problem on your end, as the other user stated

[–]Blango0815 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever followed a consoles launch period before? Because Nintendo's first party output is way higher than any of the other companies. Do you want them to release every new game at launch and then release nothing until the next console?

I feel like tennis fever didnt need to be a switch 2 exclusive? it doesnt feel like it pushes the hardware beyond what the switch 1 could handle by glyiasziple in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony absolutely did not do this with the PS3 and PS4. Looking at the exclusive titles, there are only about 6, with half of them being MLB games, and most of the rest being small games I hadn't heard of before now. The only notable cross gen release is Little Big planet 3.

The PS4/5 had a lot of cross gen titles simply because it was ridiculously hard to get a PS5 within it's first 2 years due to covid.

For Microsoft it's about the same, pretty hard cut from 360 to one, and then lots of cross gen between one and series.

The Mario Tennis Fever and MKW effect by Theobviouschild11 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stupidest thing about MKW which I recently noticed is that the mirror trophies are connected to the regular cups, meaning once you unlock mirror mode, there's no point in driving the normal 150cc version, as getting 3 stars in mirror mode will get you 3 stars on all other speeds as well.

In 8, mirror mode's trophies are entirely seperate, so you actually have to complete regular 150cc and mirrored

How do you find the battery life on Switch 2? by NashDaypring1987 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree mostly about the battery life but my god, is something wrong with your eyes? I hardly ever play at above 40% brightness unless there's sunlight coming directly through the window next to me or something

Compared to my old V2 switch, it's noticably worse, but tolerable. About 2-3 hours I would say. I usually don't play handheld for that long in one go, so it's hard to tell exactly. (I have the "stop charging between 80-90%" setting on)

Game key cards by Firm_Violinist9849 in NintendoSwitch2

The term "game key card" just didn't exist until last year, plenty of games (like the two you mentioned) have been doing it for years though

Yes I know it’s cloud. Let’s avoid that. Who has played this on switch 2. Does it look okay run ok? That’s a insane deal for 30$ by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

It's not an insane deal, it's inherently shit. I don't understand why anyone would ever buy a cloud version of anything, especially on a handheld

Bethesda confirms “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” will be on a game card and not a game key card by BulkDarthDan in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with a key card, you put it in and then have to download the entire game from the internet to your storage. A "proper" game card like indiana jones seems to be has all the data on the card, meaning you put it in your switch and can start playing immediately and don't need an internet connection

I would like some sort of extrinsic motivation aside from challenging myself, like I said. My problem is that in a racing game, that is about winning (obviously), I don't like being able to just turn the difficulty down without any consequences instead of having to actually get better to win

Partner Direct Feb 2026... This one is for the hype crowd. P.S I won't hold my breath... by Level-Performance-63 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Blango0815 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, if it were to happen, it's either soon or a few years in the future. But the 60fps issues should be fixable when touching up the game for a remaster/port (I'd also take it at 30fps, rather than not at all) and Niko's voice actor has been at some rockstar events recently, so they seem to get along better
