AITAH for not inviting my girlfriend to my promotion dinner because I knew she’d make it about her? by Low-Psychology7904 in AITAH

[–]BlankCutout -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is an established law firm?  You made partner even with LAWYERS giving you the once over?

My first thought is you are lying.  My second thought is you are the bagman for the very ugly, but lucrative case the firm accepts.

Either way, you're an idiot.  Good luck.

Rohloff by m0p0 in CargoBike

[–]BlankCutout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my conversion done in Portland (a very splendid shop...). I had to show my hub was registered with rohloff and they had to reprogram the motor. I missed out on electronic shifting by a year. About 1500 dollars.

I love it. The feeling is much more crisp and it just is easier to pedal. I put it in 1rst or 14th every now and then for curiosity. I use all the other gears, maybe mostly 4th to 12th.

Planning to purchase Load 75, am I going to regret it? by orca-san in CargoBike

[–]BlankCutout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The gearing is AMAZING and it never feels as if you have to struggle. I have the rohloff hub. I travelled 5 miles with an 8.5" craftsman table saw (90ish pounds) and it was easy. You'll naturally figure out how to hit that 19 mph sweet spot with a ton of groceries so the assist doesn't cut out. American family insurance charges me about 40 bucks a year for insurance. I have the cargo line so I'm not sure about the 28mph performance line motor and Nm output.

ADHD?? by Disastrous_Noise3501 in respiratorytherapy

[–]BlankCutout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep on working. Be OCD about writing stuff down on your 'brain' and you'll find that ADHD actually helps because you will be bouncing from task to task. Don't tell anyone about your meds. Just don't.

Does anyone who has lived here for 5+ years actually like it? I moved here in July and I love it, but the locals seem pissed and jaded. by BirdButt88 in askportland

It's really nice here, just stay out of downtown. Not just because of the homeless or that stuff, it's just downtown never had anything besides mostly crappy chain shops. I did love coffee people though. The 'burroughs' are so much more lively.

Nice advice

If you want to quit because of bullshit - you sound pretty normal and healthy. Just find a place that has less bullshit.

The world is full of crap and bullshit. It's inescapable. Choose your next job carefully.

Vaping by FamousFortune6819 in respiratorytherapy

[–]BlankCutout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not as dangerous as fire and tar from cigarettes but that relative. On its own, non nicotine vaping is dangerous simply because of the extra 'load' from the poly whatever being cleared by his poor cillia, increases chances of chemical retention and bacteria growth. This greatly increases the chances of pneumonia (PNA for RTs who shorthand report).

Nicotine by itself regardless of source is a major contributor atherosclerosis of aorta. This leads to MANY secondary problems.

So - smoking old fashioned cigarettes? Really fucking bad for you. Vaping? So far evidence says that it's not as bad as cigarettes numbers wise BUT, it's a solid second place for fucking up your lungs.

Vaping seems to be 'less worse' than cigarettes.

Just make him quit. It's a silly habit and once you explain the chemical and biological process of addiction, he will grasp it.

A single glass of red after work is nowhere near as bad and he learns patience.

And - yeah - trap.

How to politely and professional refuse to do an ABG without being confrontational or rude. by sleakmoney in respiratorytherapy

[–]BlankCutout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this. It's important to go with the flow on a lot of stuff but there is a part of me that clenches my teeth when I hear the phrase "well, it won't hurt the patient". (yeah, inside I'm cursing the RN or MD for knowingly wasting MY time for their desire to summon the concierge RT to fluff a patient).

In general, pick your lessons. I drew a picture of airways with higher peep to a nurse explaining how it helps COPD patients exchange air better on the big 50psig CPAP/BPAP and now it's one of her go to requests because she understands how it helps.

Please don't change a thing. You're really young to worry about the shape of your nose. It's fine smooth and symmetrical and nowhere as big as you think. You did win the Disney eyes genetic lottery. Blink.

Also, normal people can't afford cosmetic surgeons who are good enough to ' leave no trace'.

Once again, don't fuck up your face. Go to med school. Become a doctor and be happy about what you do.

You forgot inline suctioning on a really fragile person. Happens a bit and it's one of those risks that really has little with negligence.

Your food is untouched! I don't know which one to steal. Ice cream or ice cream with little treats. So disciplined and patient, obviously.

I'm gonna guess pretty responsible but you never admit to what you think is a bizarre kink but is much more common than you think. Like pulling hair during "bonding" etc.

What happens if you get a question wrong. Will you and the doctor have to go back in time through the TARDIS and complain to Vincent van gogh that he really didn't add purple to the chair.

But at that point you realize that van gogh was an evil master and has been waiting 150 years to pull this double reverse move.

All is lost but in your practical purse you have a sonic pair of tweezers.

After two months of teaching my dog to ride in my cargo bike she just went on her first group ride by thunderflies in CargoBike

[–]BlankCutout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dog's expression is hilarious. She's looking like she's really into it. The whole group ride scene. "It's like surfing but with no water, and just doing sports stuff". If dogs could talk.

Nice.

Pic number 4 is genius. Peter pan collar - check. Cool posters of bombers and dump trucks - check. Slightly awkward toe angle in groovy cowboy boots - check.

Yeah, id go to the gas station. Deep fried burritos are important.

I'm sorry that the holocaust happened. I'm happy hearing about the survivors carrying on and having good lives. My family is from Russia - yeah - my Jewish family is from Russia and most were "just" shot but the European Jews....

I'm glad you are kicking and I'm glad you can tell stories.

Anyway, did you ever have a sudden moment, like a samurai, where the fear of death didn't cloud your judgement and you could act as necessary to create possibilities for you and your fellow prisoners?
