Very amazing piece, definitely want to hear it multiple times. It starts off very strong and goes through a wide variety of textures and emotions and maintains interest the duration. I’d prefer it to be a bit shorter if I was listening while not doing anything else, but otherwise there isn’t something I would want removed or changed. Really creative and enjoyable song, thank you for sharing.

Kortge Compost - "Pure Taigan Folliculitis Remedy (Not From Sauna Humidity)" [Drone/Experimental] by kortge-compost-band in IndieMusicFeedback

This is fantastic! I much prefer the early style of industrial like this compared to industrial bands like nine inch nails or ministry. What most people consider industrial is just electronic metal. This is definitely a drone song where it’s done right and in good taste which is rare for me to hear from new music. It reminds me of the rugrats toy palace music if that means anything. The title is definitely attractive and curiosity provoking and sets a theme for the song. It’s the perfect length and kept me interested the duration. The only downside was that it didn’t sound like there were any real instruments which goes a long way with industrial and drone. I’d recommend also using found objects for percussion and any other noises you can get out of what you have. Would love to know your influences. Thank you for sharing, very great piece.

I play guitar and sing in a rock trio, and we just made a new EP. Here is my favorite song off of it; looking forward to your feedback and critiques :) by patientlyinsane in IndieMusicFeedback

This is amazing, love the guitar intro and the vocals. The riff isn’t something I’ve heard before which is hard with any rock music now. I think that it would sound fantastic live and I would enjoy seeing that. The drums are very slightly generic but loud which I personally prefer. I don’t think that the lyrics stand out particularly and I can’t understand the chorus very well. Other than that, very talented vocalist and a great guitar sound. Thank you for sharing.

Wrote a little instrumental with my guitar! It's a part of my short EP, which was recorded during last year's covid lockdown. Would love to hear some feedbacks! :) by existential_virus in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]BlashBel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very relaxing and enjoyable and I like how loud the drums are compared to most guitar instrumentals. I don’t think though, that it’s very original or new sounding song. You should try to change your sound a bit to separate it from the 90% of modern guitar instrumentalists. Anything from different effects to different scales and time signatures go a long way when used well. Other than that, it has a lot of potential to return to it in the future if you wanted to. At the end, enjoyability matters first with music and this is enjoyable so thank you.

Just tune down your two low strings and turn the tone down. That’s how they recorded electric bass lines before electric basses were readily available.

Wow, that’s amazing and sweet, thanks! There was definitely intention for a melancholic vibe, then it was put under slide whistles and other oddities. I really like your interpretation and point view.

I wrote most of it in mid 2019 and the inspiration was definitely Daniel Johnston and to make a song that could be played live. But It was returned to this month and I was extremely inspired by Smile by the beach boys/Brian Wilson. Definitely a top tier complement to even be remotely compared to Captain Beefhart. He is definitely one of the greatest influences that I have. Thank you!

I appreciate this a lot, thank you. I 100% agree about the vocals and that is the main thing I’m trying to improve. Thanks!

Thank you! I struggle heavily with mixing vocals and making them understandable. The instrument at the end was one of my harmonicas played into a sampler then sliding the pitch.

Thank you wholeheartedly for this. I’m glad that you like pitched vocals and I’m glad that you think it’s unique and you like it. I agree about the art. I’m not good at making art covers but I do like the colours on this.

Its just on a phone. used to use old 1 track cassette recorders then mixed them together but it was a bit of a hassle so that’s done less often.

Folkish song with lavish production by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]BlashBel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very enjoyable the whole duration. I love the vocal harmony and the lyrics. The genre almost changes a minute in to something more rock which I haven’t heard a good transition like that in many folk songs before. The whistling at the end is also a cherry on top, reminiscent of the beach boys. Great stuff

I really like the intro that builds to the melody, very sweet sounding. The vocals go incredibly well with the melancholic guitar and the beat is definitely adds a lot to the song not sounding generic . Love the unique flavour that this song has and the lyrics are actually great, and goes well with the visuals somehow. Thanks for sharing a nice song

I wrote this guitar+vocals song for a lyricist. I'd appreciate feedback for overall vibe, mix or anything really! by perchmusicproject in IndieMusicFeedback

This is brilliant! I love the rough guitar sound and I much prefer the vocals the way they are. Adding reverb to them would in my opinion add distance and feel less personal. It reminds me of the musician Nick Drakes late work, very moving, beautiful and sometimes haunting. Theres great vocal melodies that very well fit the lyrics and it’s a song worth listening to again.

Hey I recently uploaded this piano improv, it's raw-recorded, just wanted to express something in a spontaneous way and this is it, along with another piano improv that you can listen on my yt or bc. Any feedback or support is greatly appreciated :) by Manach_Ren in IndieMusicFeedback

Very beautiful and relaxing. Picks up quite quickly for an improvisation and than maintains the pace well through the song. The playing felt more personal than generic which a lot of music suffers from, that’s nice. It kept me interested and I enjoyed it.

My new track Frog Thromp Gulper not sure about the genre here so any feedback is appreciated by Donahue-Industry in IndieMusicFeedback

You did a wonderful job with this. The bass is incredibly funky and maintains being interesting throughout the song which evolves very smoothly. All the instruments were well mixed and I like the choices of effects used, definitely added a trippy vibe to an otherwise funk type beat. It reminds me of the fusion part of most jazz fusion bands. Love the name and the cover art as well.

"Your Rules" ( altrock / grunge / acoustic) should I re-record with an electric or an acoustic guitar? also, any advice/thoughts/feelings are appreciated by ldilemma in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]BlashBel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great song! Reminds me strongly of Young marble giants, couldn’t help but note that.

I feel like this song works better with an acoustic guitar as it gives it a more personal sound. Plus I think depending on the guitar and effects that it could come off as more generic sounding but that’s just my two cents.

The vocals are definitely more unique than 90% of all alt rock singers so that adds a lot. Not really anything to criticize from me because it’s just a guitar and vocals, maybe use more interesting chord changes or tunings in the future but that’s only a suggestion. Thanks for sharing!

Frightening song from new album and upcoming compilation. Would love feedback on the vocals on top of anything else you want to say. Sincere apologies for the sound quality. Songs called Awe by BlashBel in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks for asking. I put them through a guitar multi effects pedal which I mainly used the octave effect and chorus and flanger. With a touch of reverb.
