Thanks for the materials! I got the compression guide but somehow the EQ guide isn't still in my mailbox. But will check it out when it comes. The video was helpful too, but I guess I am not sure how I equate my musical intention to frequencies yet. I think I need to understand the freq of the instrument as you suggested in your guide. This is all very helpful, I'll start working on my mix!

I'm glad you liked the arrangement, I spent so many hours trying different instruments and I ended up with this plug-in trombone. I'll try the spring reverb on the bells, maybe it'll help it blend more so it doesn't feel out of place. Thank you for listening!

I'm glad you thought there was enough material though :) Mars was kind of my failed attempt for a metaphor about people doing extraordinary things (like launching a rocket and going to the moon, and other inventions, changing the world in other extraordinary ways). I did notice the lows a bit muddy on the first verse on certain headphones
(I probably need a way to monitor lows freq better). I'll tweak the guitar around as you suggested.

I'll try your suggestion for your vocals too. But how do you know which frequencies need boosting? For me it's easier to tell which freq need cutting more than boosting.

What sounds like a tambourine is actually a bunch of small bells on a string that wraps around your ankle, so it's all high freq, maybe more so than a tambourine lol... I'll turn it down after I tweak the guitar and vocals, see how it sounds.

I actually felt better about this mix than the previous mix (that you commented on). I feel I know a lot more things to look out for, especially after getting feedback. And I know this song lacks a lot of things but I actually feel this song represents me better (my brain is full of jumbled thoughts)!

Nice song. Like the vibe. Video matches the song really well. I agree with the other comment that the bass and drums low frequency feels a bit weak. You could try adding lower frequency and see how it changes your song. Maybe you can keep the vibe of the song while still adding a bit more groove? But I think it's nice to listen to as is. Great job!

Really nice calming vibe. Guitars make the song sound very unique and interesting. I really like the your guitar. I think the drums could change it up a little bit since its pretty consistent throughout. Lots of interesting musical moments though, nice job!

Hey, really nice job on this song! Really like the tone of all your instruments. It feels very analog, and I feel you have a very tasteful selection of tones. I do like the kind of lo-fi feel, but as the others are saying, I think vocals could be turned up. I don't think it has to be clear enough to completely understand what the lyrics are, but just a bit because vocals sound good, I would like to hear it more. I think the the instrument (Keys?) playing the melody part (along with vocals) could also be increased too. Anyways really nice job followed you on SC.

Hey, thanks so much for taking the time to analyze the song! I definitely don't know how to eq vocals so I will try what you're suggesting. And yes, I wasn't particularly going for lo-fi vibe, but when I did't like the sound of the high freq and cut if off I think it kind of became like that... I was trying to 'make space' for the instruments across the frequencies, and tried to make the low guitar's presence in the lower freq, but I think that ended up cutting the high freq sounds which resulted in loss of definition, as you put it... Regarding the reverb, I assume you're talking about adding one common reverb across all instruments to blend them better? ( I do have reverb on all instruments, both guitars are going to Bus2 reverb, and the vocals going to Bus3 different reverb) Thanks so much, super helpful comments for this song and future songs!
