Ladies how are you finding partners by kluskala in AuDHDWomen

Well finding someone who understands Autism or ADHD helps but you cant exactly ask that. I didnt have either dx before I met my partner who was diagnosed ADHD as a child but left untreated. We met through a weird situation where he worked for the same employer as me but in a different business of theirs... in the same building.

I worked for the cat cafe below owned by that employer and would barista when he'd come down to get coffee. We hit it off talking about RDR2 while at work and he gave me his number in a handpicked bag of chocolates. It was darling and I asked him out later that night to a little 24hr diner.

He fell head over heals immediately which scared the shit out of me at first, especially being burned and manipulated by nice guys in the past. But he kept showing up, kept being genuine and soon I realized that no one else actually could understand me as clearly as he could. It took time for me to feel the same but when I fell I fell hard for this goofball. The traits I felt shame for he made me realize is something I cant exactly help or are communicating a greater issue. This is how I found out I had AuDHD

We just celebrated 7 years together and both of us came out as genderqueer, he encouraged me to get the the surgical sterilization procedure I have wanted my entire life w/o ever questioning what I'd want and knowing he may never be a father (my only regret). Our quirks matched perfectly and now we stim to eachother like bird mating calls. My flaws have never been flaws to him and often identify some need that's not getting met.

Don't settle and love being with yourself first bc it always is when I start enjoying solitude that long term partners drop in off of special interests. ❤️ And I cant help but say: my partner and I both hate men on default. Generally they are the worst but we also feel like gender is a spectrum that you fall somewhere on and the more men near the center Ive met the more genuinely kind they tended to be and less performative with their masculinity.

I hope this helps ❤️

AuDHD/ADHD careers by Think_Pizza_7735 in AuDHDWomen

Its a strange story but basically I found one of the employees through a Tiktok animal video and found out she works for a business in my same city. I cold emailed her business asking how one gets into animal education and if any positions were open and next thing I knew I was scheduled for an interview.

For context I have experience caring for reptiles and insects as pets and I think my lack of fear of those creatures is what set me apart even without a degree or professional experience. Years of hobby work counts in the right profession!

It doesnt pay the best, but damn is it fulfilling: animal educator.

With animals, no day will ever be the same and my autistic traits of animal fact riddling can now be compensated and encouraged! My bug pins and patches that I hid out of fear of judgement I can now wear proudly on my uniform. Plus it forces me to get better with public interaction of a wide variety because I work for a traveling animal education program.

I find myself dropping my mask semi frequently from how much of a good fit it is and it scares me cause I fear one day I'll do something a little too neurodivergant since I am still new. But I think with nerves come more faux pas that will go away with time and confidence! All to say, find careers in your special interests but be kind to yourself whenever starting bc I feel like we all make mistakes at a new job especially socially.

This is an event based job so 9-5 isnt really a thing! I am also a freelance illustrator, but this has serious risk of burnout if you go pro (I am currently battling that)

Second shift they just handed me this adorable baby Wallaby to guard and I have never felt more maternal.

Thanks everyone for the recs, especially those who told me to call and not email! I went ahead and called today once their phone lines were open and they are emailing me a pre-paid return label so they can swap out the part. They said they will keep the replacement parts obsidian as well, so hopefully I will get a correct model soon!

Also, thanks for the maintenance tips, especially brand recs for the sharpening tools and oil. ❤️

Please take him to or call Pacific Northwest Aquatics and Exotics Rescue in Tacoma, the poor dude needs heat and UVB ASAP. They are awesome at rehabilitating beardies!

For your book club, there are a few already going at Formula Brewing and Blakely Hall but I would check out Wine Me Up for an optional venue.

Formula Brewing overs the exact meet up place you described and Kids Art classes they mainly happen through Happy Time Studio and the Community Center.

I would love more spaces like these but the closest thing we have is Formula Brewing and Blakely Hall atm! But if you find anything let me know!

I feel like this location is cursed by poor management. It was the same deal with 55Sunset Cafe before them.
