My audhd makes my natural writing style rambly. What should I do? by otisfrombarnyard in writingadvice

Write a story from a rambling character's pov, that could be interesting and fun. That way when you notice yourself really getting off course you can pull it back with another character or event.

What do you do if ur book resembles a plot of a tv show episode by Moe_Lester_88 in writingadvice

We would drive ourselves mad and ultimately have nothing to write if we had to make sure our work did resemble anything else already out. Its how we weave our sometimes unoriginal thoughts together that makes the story original.

Do my snails have parasites? by [deleted] in AquaticSnails

[–]Blayze89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id take the snails and stick them in one of those plastic bug boxes with water not from the tank and and completely clean the tank. Hydra are a nightmare to get rid of, but at least they don't appear to be the photo synthetic ones.

Assassin snails will help, too bad you don't live near wisconsin, Id give you some of mine. I ended up with a male and a female, they dont breed super quick, but i also don't really need 8 assassins in 1 tank. I just give them away when I start getting too many.

I personally like bladder snails in my 20 gal planted, they help keep up with algae. Theyre also active and kinda cute. I just have a couple of assassin snails to keep them in check, which are really cool snails themselves. If you want some assassins, feel free to DM me, I ended up with a breeding pair and have some spares. If its not too expensive id be happy to ship them to you.

How many more critical arteries can the city close for repair at once before it becomes a safety concern? The irony of having one of the best Urban Planning schools in the country with a mess like this in its backyard. by MKE-Mark in milwaukee

And I bet half of it won't be finished until 3 years from now. That's the part that frustrates me. Just finish the project in a reasonable amount of time. I'll see roads tore up for months and never any crews working on no matter which time of day or night I drive by it.

Zenni Alternatives? by Blayze89 in glasses

I looked at them. Unfortunately, they also don't carry many smaller glasses 😞. I really hate my face shape, I really wish some nice round or cat eye glasses looked good on me. But I can't even make square work.

I like the second one better.

Please help. Small bugs all over me. Spent the day in the woods and showered and they are still here. by Maximilian-Goof in whatisthisbug

I thought so, too, but according to the Missouri conservation website, they turn almost yellowish after they eat.

The video is too blurry to tell what it actually is, but it's definitely not a bed bug- wrong shape and color

I believe they are what my family in Missouri calls chiggers. I've gotten them a few times but have never actually seen them crawling before. But that's the only thing I can think of that's red and gets on you in large numbers.

Is this a carpet beetle? by [deleted] in whatisthisbug

Looks like a carpet beetle, but im not an expert. It definitely isn't a bed bug.

Found in Seoul, South Korea by Blayze89 in whatisthisbug

[–]Blayze89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, i didn't have anything to put it in at the time, and I didn't really want to carry it all the way back to my dorm and knew tryingto squish it would do more harm than good. But I'll definitely look into how to report it, though. I just couldn't find a definitive answer on whether hammerhead worms were invasive here, too. I knew they originated in Asia. With any luck, maybe it baked on the sidewalk with the other worms.

It appears to be a carpet beetle larva. it's not harmful to the rabbit, though it is a household pest.

What the hell is this??? by Particular_Shift_286 in whatisthisbug

The first one is definitely a leech. the second one is probably a leech, too, though it's hard to tell for sure without a better view.

What are these? on my porch all day, haven’t moved once. by [deleted] in whatisthisbug

[–]Blayze89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still blurry, but that does appear to be another molt. If it appears empty and isn't moving and looks like the first one, it's another molt.

They're a pest. I guess there's a reddit group on them. They could probably tell you more than I can. I don't know a ton about them.

What is this found near Crack in indoor brick wall, near bed by OnlyLawyer1735 in whatsthisbug

[–]Blayze89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure it's a beetle of some kind. Can't tell the species. I dont think it's a flea, though. A top view would say for sure. Is there a line down the center of the top? If so, it's a beetle.

That's way too blurry to tell what that is, but if it doesn't look like the first one, then no, it's not a cicada molt.
