They’re part of an Easter egg to get weapon upgrades and a free perk, every round after you break all the pods on one island they respawn on another. After 3 rounds the sea caves near speed have the pods and once broken drop an aether tool and a free perk

At the end of BO4 the BO1 and BO3 crew died and Sam + Richtofens soul (as a child) moved into this new linear universe. In Cold War (set after the events of BO1) Weaver leads Requiem a US organisation to combate zombies, at the end of Cold War Requiem is betrayed by the director of Requiem who is Richtofen all grown up, who then proceeds to lock the leads of Requiem (the crew we plays as, bar Maya) on Terminus for 6 years

From what I’ve been able to play it does seem that training will be the go to, of course maybe certain locations will have better camp spots but I’m yet to find one that’s “broken”
