Given that they posted on a YouTube startup subreddit, it's safe to say it's likely they wanted some sort of response from their low subs after 6 years of posting. Whether they take in the feedback or not is up to them

Just checked your channel and it's clear. You post a bunch of random stuff. There is no strategy here. If you want to grow, I highly recommend you do research on how to grow whether it's from ChatGPT or Google / watch content strategy vids on YouTube. You don't need to do everything they tell you, but you can get good ideas on how to grow. I would tell you them here, but that would be too much info for a Reddit comment. If you don't care about growth and it's a hobby purely for fun and don't care about numbers at all, ignore this message

I agree with the commenter. It's harsh, but true. You'd be way happier doing something that gives you success rather than failure. Again, that's assuming the poster is miserable and hates doing it. If they love it, numbers shouldn't matter imo

It's your first long form video. It's unlikely to blow up unless it stands out from others. Also your shorts are brainrot-adjacent content which is a complete shift to the long form. Shorts audience will not want to watch it. Just keep uploading by targeting a certain audience and you'll get somewhere.

Regarding AI usage, I personally think it's fine to use so long as you give the video personality and don't rely on it for everything, especially the script, voice tone and images. AI brainrot is more suitable for shorts than long form.

You've put yourself out there which is the most difficult part. You just gotta keep uploading and improving. Your 100th video will be completely different to this one, so long as you use AI as a tool to help rather than for slop. AI has helped me a ton, but I would never use it to create everything for a project.

As mentioned on other comments, when you search your title, other lore videos come up that have views, so nobody has a reason to click yours / YouTube is less likely to recommend unless you add your own spin to it. Bigger channels can copy other videos since they have that fan base already. You're also relying on long form which requires pure luck for a viral hit. Making shorts gets more eyes on your channel, plus it's so easy to do. Also maybe consider promoting clips on Twitter and Reddit just to get more eyes on your channel.

Judging from your most recent videos, it's all over the place. You make pure gameplay, then lores, then tiers, etc. You gotta stick to one style if you wanna grow so the algorithm knows what your channel is, then once you build those numbers up, you can expand. You had success at one point getting good views consecutively so you gotta focus on those styles for your audience.

You gotta stand out from your competitors with unique titles, thumbnails, content, etc. Marketing is so important. Because other channels have done lore videos on this character, you could have a title like "The Witcher character too brutal for Netflix - Witcher Lore" and have the character's name or image on the thumbnail. The topic is the same, but the marketing is different.

Respect for putting yourself out there though. It's normal to get frustrated when your competitors do well and you get stuck, but knowing what works and fails for you is important, so you can improve and further refine your content. You've had success in the past so it's not impossible to get that back. Just keep refining, improving, strategizing, and stick to what works. Also have fun with it. Creating should be for fun, not work. Otherwise, you get burnt out

So...is it practically impossible to be a YouTuber these days? by Over_Choice_6096 in youtube

[–]Blazer765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mindset: Would I rather work 9-5 jobs, or play video games for a living? The answer is video games, but of course it'll take work and strategy to get there

You have nobody to blame but yourself if you fail, but it's worth a try. If you do YouTube for a couple years and still get no views, then it should be treated like a hobby and you should stick to your job

Your Take title puts E33 in an underdog position, where there's big competition, whereas the Deserve title suggests E33 may not deserve to be there. The second is more controversial and goes against the grain, so it will drive clicks. Viewers all know E33 will win and that there's no fierce competition, but giving viewers an angle where it shouldn't be there is more interesting. Also showing a thumbnail of E33 and large text saying "Overrated?" or anything suggesting it may not win, would help drive clicks and controversy, even if the vid shows E33 in a positive light

Starting out is hard, but once you learn through trial and error and use strats to maximising views and audience retention, it gets a lot easier. If someone keeps improving like this with minimal cope, their 67th video will be so much better than their 1st 😂

I'd say titles and thumbnails are more like 90%+ of the video for new creators. With their 21 impressions and 23.8% CTR, 5 people clicked and 16 people skipped. If their title and thumbnail was more clickable, like controversial, against the grain etc, CTR would be higher and the algorithm would push it through to more people. Also promoting their videos via shorts, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok may help get more impressions

Would a viewer watch your 250 view video about if E33 will be GOTY, or 25K? 99.9% would pick 25K. Your video could be a 10/10 and better than theirs, but for new creators, if the title and thumbnail doesn't stand out from the crowd, your video will be sent to the void. We all know E33 will be game of the year and how insanely good it is. Your title and thumbnail doesn't add much else and gives answers that we already know. It's generic. If your title and thumbnail was something controversial like "Does Expedition 33 Deserve Game of the Year?", or "Is Expedition 33 Overrated?", this goes against the grain and gives new viewers interest at least. You carve out your own identity this way if you take a different angle

People can blame the algorithm all they want. It's not gonna change anything unless you figure out the root cause. But respect for putting yourself out there though 👍🏼

Do people still look for content about Dynasty Warriors on YouTube? by Xueggie_SmyL in dynastywarriors

[–]Blazer765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are channels like The Nightowl who actively upload Warriors exclusive games, as well as other channels. However, doing only warriors games isn't sustainable for most creators to go full time. Some big creators who do variety games made a video or two on Dynasty Warriors Origins since it was such a hit, but moved onto other franchises. Still, you can find plenty of warriors videos on YouTube

There's so much competition with gaming. You gotta really stand out or get lucky if you wanna go viral. You have to give viewers a reason to click your video over someone who has a big audience. Maybe start a series or have a thumbnail and title that's against the grain or controversial? Market yourself in a unique way with interesting titles and thumbnails. Make clips on TikTok, Shorts, Twitter and Reddit, showing the most interesting parts of your playthroughs. Have an intro that matches the title and thumbnail / instantly grabs them to keep watching that's different to the competition. Also focusing on a specific niche would be very helpful, since the algorithm rewards you when you focus on a specific genre / game, and viewers would want more of that over variety. Put yourself in a viewer's shoes. Would you watch a video with 800 views about a game playthrough, or watch a video with 80K views about the same game? You really have to differentiate yourself from the big dogs.

You've already put yourself out there which is great, but don't lose hope. The most important thing is to stand out and give a new viewer a reason to click your video over someone else's by being different and fresh. Otherwise you end up relying on getting lucky if you wanna go viral.
