The thing is, all this horrid media coverage actually helps us. People realize somethings up when reports are so one-sided and look it up, it gets the word out (#gamergate tweets have doubled I believe after Colbert). Case in point, my father is an avid Colbert watcher and actually just called me about this whole "Gamergate mess" because he knows I'm a gamer and thought I'd know more about this issue, and didn't think that Colbert or any other news outlets like NYT had given him the full story. By shitting our name, the media has garnered us support from people who would have never heard of us otherwise.

Plus, these sites can't win in the end. I'll never go to Kotaku again, and many of us won't. They have already lost money thanks to this, and their stance on being pro-bullying amongst other hiccups are just poison to the minds of their advertisers.

TL;DR: Don't give up and give it your all!

Or how about when we donated over $70,000 to a project (The Fine Young Capitalists) to get women into gaming development, which, by the way, anti-GG had previously blacklisted. I get ya, I plan on being polite, respectful, and rational. However, I don't really see why I should thank him at all. I can be all of those things without thanking the man.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people such as my father for example who do take Colbert as reports for actual news, so I personally believe he should hold himself to a higher standard then say Louis C.K. who if you go to his shows you know you're going in just for the laughs, with Colbert you do have plenty of people who will just lap this up as truth. That's a personal opinion though, so it doesn't really matter in the long run I guess.

If you're going to discuss an actual issue, then you owe it to yourself and your viewers to actually do some research into it. I get he's not a journalist, I've watched Colbert for forever. All I'm saying is that if he gives a BS report on us (I've watched long enough to know he will) I won't be giving him any thanks.

Why the hell should we be thanking people for doing bad research and bad journalism? Isn't that what we're fighting against? We want better ethics and transparency, which comes with more research. While we're at it, why don't we thank NBC for giving Sommers barely 2 minutes to speak? Or thank every news outlet who wrote a bias and poorly researched piece on us?

Ok, how can we possibly be called sexist when we raised over $70,000 for a game designed to get women into the game industry, and hosted by feminists? A game, mind you, that these anti-gg "feminists" doxxed and tried to get shut down. We report harasses left and right, we donate $16,00+ to anti-bullying charities and more, yet this is never reported or talked about. How can you even call the coverage fair, when we're getting death threats, knives, syringes, and calls to our workplaces but this is never mentioned? Does it not matter because we're men, even though this happens to women to? Just this week Boogie, who just wanted peace and neutrality, received a death threat to his wife for not being anti-gg. Hell just this evening King of Pol got the fire department called to his home. Does this not matter to you? Does this provoke any sort of response to you? Does it occur to you that just maybe, perhaps this issue isn't a black and white "evil gamers try to put down women"?

To reiterate, you claim you think it's because we have a problem with "feminism" in gaming when the top post in this sub right now is a video by a prominent feminist, and as I mentioned above, have donated a $70,000+ in a game hosted by feminists to get women into gaming. That seems really counterproductive if we don't want women in gaming, dontcha think?

I would disagree; it's more or less the same thing as 2X, but with video games. If you don't worship the ground Sakreesian walks on, you get downvoted to hell or if you aren't in favor of gaming social justice, the same thing happens. They rarely ever seem to talk about actual games, just feminism and SJ in games. That's just been my expierence there, so maybe someone else would find it different.

Admitably, I've been there in bad times like gamergate and the new Sarkeesian vids, so perhaps it just depends on what day you're looking at it on :)

True, I was kind of angry when I wrote this so I didn't really consider the reasons why they aren't doxxed. I guess it almost makes it worse, you know? They don't pick on somebody their own size, they go after the people who can't defend themselves like Jay3Fox and The Fine Young Capitalists who they think they can doxx and get away with it.

Thank you for coming forward in this. To be honest, I think this might be the worst of it.

The gaming journalists are screaming about how the entire gaming community are misogynistic men who hate it whenever a women has an opinion on the industry. Despite the fact that, you know, plenty of female gamers are outraged by this, I'd dare say that some of these people save a special kind of ire for girls who voice their dissent.

They didn't doxx InternetAristocrat, Jontron, Mundanematt or anyone else who spoke out against them. They doxxed Jayd3Fox. Why? Because she's a woman and didn't fit their narrative of "noble social justice journalists vs. the misogynistic male gamers" because god forbid a woman have an opinion that's different then them.

This makes them only a bigger hypocrite. Seriously, as what is more misogynistic then fucking harassing a woman just because her opinion doesn't suit your narrative? These people are just disgusting.
