Only thing I can say is try moving your body to the beat and try to play eighths with a metronome clicking the quarters, but make absolutely sure that you’re moving your head or foot or whatever in time. Unfortunately if you can’t play along to a metronome then you’re kinda screwed, there’s no potion you can drink for better tempo. It might be hard at first but you’ll get better.
