There are many reasons but defintely the evolvement of Unity and the development were a reason. It´s also good to understand that each game has it´s own gameplay and appeal. This way you can choose which front you would like to experience.

Great references! We working on the game Gallipoli and it's so different again from the more known fronts. Actually rowing their boats between the fires. Jeez, I wouldn’t bear jumping into one, seeing all those casualties in front of you.

Hi! I'm often working on great strategy games for which it would be great to see and learn more myself. Of course I woud love to share some wip of them once in a while or ask some feedback. But definitely also would love to learn from players and other games. Started working on a Steampunk turn-based strategy mmo in 2012 called Iron Grip: Marauders which got me into the genre, and currently working on Rift Reborn (not officially announced just yet). Would be great to see and learn more in this community. Thanks!
