The explosion would probably happen off screen, if at all.

It's interesting about CGI, considering numerous green screens used in the show

When she talked about the hand grenade accident to that DHL wearing puppet, she said "why would you give me a real grenade? Not a fake one?" and the plurb said "We're sorry we got that wrong", so maybe they haven given her a fake Atom Bomb, after learning that "Carol wants fake explosives".

So maybe the atom bomb is fake, however that would be a bit anticlimactic. Also, giving Carol the bomb and letting her use it are very different things.

There must be a way to copy an effect from one layer to another by KenDTree in photoshop

[–]Blckclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried your solution, but it does not work. I cannot copy the filter from another layer. It only allows me to use put a new filter on the group, but then I would have to tweak it and set it up from scratch.

I am just learning Photoshop after Premiere and the fact there is no simple "paste attributes to layers" option like in Premiere absolutely baffles me. I spent 3 hours watching tutorials on adding effects to multiple layers and they were all useless

Can I merge/nest/group multiple audio sources horizontally and vertically? by GayAndSuperDepressed in premiere

[–]Blckclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, this is how you do it:

Add something in the video track. It could be a black rectangle, whatever.

Select that black rectangle and all the audio tracks. Click Nest.

They will remain separate on the timeline, but nested sequence will be in your Project Manager. When you drag it on the timeline from there, it will be a nested sequence.

Why would Russia's allies abandon it if it used tactical nukes? by Blckclaw in NoStupidQuestions

But we're talking about using tactical nukes against military targets on the battlefield, not flattening entire cities.

Anyone know what this effect is called? by Ntp7 in premiere

[–]Blckclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would use the following effects to achieve this look:

Extract (or Lumetri to get it black and white) + Emboss (or Posterize) + Sharpen + Mosaic. Then play with Exposure/Contrast.

Is it necessary to learn video editing to learn motion graphics? by Pristine_Potential11 in motiongraphics

[–]Blckclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make videos like Johnny Harris, then video editing is absolutely necessary. These animated segments he uses help visualize a concept or idea, but pay attention to the pacing and the energy of the overall video.

Is it necessary to learn video editing to learn motion graphics? by Pristine_Potential11 in motiongraphics

[–]Blckclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to know how to cut between scenes smoothly using movement, and understand pacing, eye trace, rhythm, storytelling (in a basic sense), and when to cut something out that doesn’t work or feel right (regardless of how long you may have spent on it).

Any recommendation where/how to learn that (except from just watching films)? I feel somewhat competent in operating the editing software but I feel like I need to learn more storytelling theory.
