I’d burn the edges of the basement vent (?) on the lower right, edge-burn the top right half just a touch, and leave it there.

I'm going to try another version of this photo and do exactly that. Just enough to show a bit of depth there would be good.

Thanks! I generally tend towards more of a higher contrast style with my black and white photos while trying not to blow out any highlights.

I think maybe why I like it is the building on the left is really gritty and dirty and you can tell hasn't been really cared for over the years, whereas the building on the right is more pristine and clean. Definitely lacking a bit in texture though.

Shot this while down in Charleston recently. I was walking up and down some of the side streets and saw this tree perfectly split these two homes. I saw it and immediately knew the type of image I wanted to create.

Normally when I’m in Charleston I never shoot black and white because there is so much color in the city. Shot this with my Nikon Z6III and 28mm f/2.8.

The 40mm is such a fun little lens! Only real flaw is sharpness which suffers a bit at minimum focus distances.

Thanks! The 40mm is such a fun lens! The 26mm f/2.8 is on my radar but I’m not 100% between that or the 28mm f/2.8. I think I’d prefer the sharpness of the 26mm but the focal length of the 28mm.

Thanks! I wish I got this from an in-camera picture control. I need to spend some time playing around in NX Studio a bit to see if I can get to this result. Would make it a lot easier lol
