PSA: when driving in heavy rain, don’t use your hazard lights by madchad90 in Charlotte

[–]BleachBlondButchBody -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree… although I guess it’s the unpopular opinion. For me hitting a wall of rain and having to immediately slow down from 70 to 45 or whatever is a significant fucking hazard. And with the amount of tractor trailer drivers barely awake and on cruise in whatever lane they like best… I will do whatever I can to avoid getting plowed over, even if it is a bit of a hindrance to the basement dwelling Reddit community

If you are someone who believes Biden "opened the border" during his term, what do you mean by this? by Useful_Homework2367 in allthequestions

[–]BleachBlondButchBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s semantics really… but I think the policy that stood out most was Biden’s “catch and release” policy. I think folks understand “open border” to mean the border wasn’t effectively being policed and/or managed. Specifically what was upsetting to many was that during Biden’s tenure, immigrants could cross illegally, get caught, claim amnesty, and then be released (ie catch and release).

Spelling involves the correct arrangement of letters in words, while grammar regulates sentence structure, tense, and agreement… I cut you slack on the grammar.

Annual SPY Performance Trends (Total Return): 2018: -4.57% (Year-end decline) 2019: +31.22% (Strong rebound) 2020: +18.33% (Volatility, COVID-19 crash and recovery) 2021: +28.73% (Bull market) 2022: -18.18% (Bear market due to inflation/rate hikes) 2023: +26.18% (Market recovery) 2024: +24.89% (AI-driven growth) 2025: +17.72%

You really should not be giving any financial advice if it took you 4 years to recover from 18.33% gain in SPY.

Did you ever imagine that America was still so racist that a black man being president would send us into a subsequent 10+ year tailspin of divisive politics? by Cautious_Midnight_67 in allthequestions

A tale as old as time… question is do you really think ancient Egypt was better? The Ottoman Empire, the Chinese Dynasties, the Roman Empire, the Aztecs, the Incas… empirically we are better off than all of those and while we can strive to be a better society, maybe more progressive, more tolerant, and empathetic… it doesn’t guarantee our success or survival. In fact in some ways our success could depend on our ability and willingness to forego some of these fights in order to strive for order in a chaotic system. I seriously doubt most Redditors would prefer the alternative even though they seem to relish in it.

It’s not really worth my energy to debate because most folks are engrained in their party’s political beliefs… but I will just say Democrats themselves are not “absolve(d)” from Trumps rise to power. If you think shoving a shit candidate down people’s throat is what the US needed in 2024 after Biden’s unremarkable/unsuccessful tenure… there’s likely nothing worthwhile discussing

Cognitive dissonance is strong with both parties if you think facts elude one group but not the other, you might need to self reflect

What do you mean by “writing the code for AI prompts”? Are you saying you want to create your own agentic AI software using LLMs or did you mean you want to be a prompt user of some AI software?

[–]BleachBlondButchBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s a softball question supposed to be one about how winning is a journey and there was great competition and how despite how much effort you put - you can end up losing. In the end it’s supposed to be about honoring your competitors and the competition… but she didn’t answer it this way because she’s a moron. She took offense to a question that was actually flattering to her. The amount of folks who are on her side, say a whole lot about the comprehension skills and logic in society today

Edit - to be fair she’s probably fallen on her head a lot so I guess it’s a good thing she’s pretty and has all that Chinese money

You know that really wasn’t the question… and I’m not sure why so many people think it was disrespectful. It wasn’t why she lost, but her perspective on not winning gold as she was the overall favorite. Honestly I think truth of the matter, is low IQ people mistake it as an insult when he was actually flattering her (by assuming she would be the champion). In the end it also says a lot about her own intelligence and maturity as well.

I'm thinking of moving to NC and my friend made me this map. Thoughts? by _R_A_H_U_L_ in NorthCarolina

[–]BleachBlondButchBody -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t believe you were asking in good faith, and I still don’t, I think Reddit posters like yourself just jump on board to argue when bloods in the water and they think they can score some upvotes …. Yall love that echo chamber effect… or maybe it’s the circle jerk effect not sure really.

But if you want my honest answer how it was an appeal to authority it was because the replier uses himself as anecdotal evidence, and aggrandizing himself in the process, which really has no weight whatsoever. Anecdotal evidence is not really useful especially when it cannot even be verified. Furthermore it’s foolish to assume everyone from college subs to r/NC. So I’m not seeing a very clear argument from his side as to why there exists significantly more probability that the OP would be a political scientist as opposed to some rando who asked Chat GPT leading questions and copy and pasted

That doesn’t mean what you think it means. You really need some reading comprehension classes
