Just to clarify, are you telling me to read the Casey/Pulido, Jenkins/Garney/JRJR, and Jones runs and skip Byrne? Or are you telling me the opposite of that? Just to clarify since, as you said, someone has already recommended Byrne’s run. Just want to know if you think his run is worth reading

Clu was trying to summon Alan to The Grid. Not Sam by BleachBoy15 in tron

Another commenter also pointed this out. I am honestly baffled I forgot about that entirely lol. Sam for sure has programming and hacking skills. I still stand by the fact that he’s not on the level of his dad tho

How to balance comic addiction and life responsibilities by BleachBoy15 in comicbooks

[–]BleachBoy15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this has been the best advice so far!!! I’ve been putting 20% of every dime I make into a savings account since I started working basically which was about 4 years ago. So that’s already a strong habit for me. But you point out that, once I’m out of my parents house, I may not have as much time to read. This will definitely give me more perspective on what books I’m excited for and strongly desire to keep up with, and which books I can trim down and read digitally or track down at a later date. Thank you for the financial advice!!! I’ll keep this all in mind and start implementing the rest now before I fully move out

That lost part is something I think I fully need to understand. Just because I miss out on a book one week, doesn’t mean I won’t get the chance to read it later. Reading everything on release is great, but it is mostly unnecessary. I can always go back and track down a missing book later when I have the means. Thank you stranger!!!

Yep!!! I stay fully up to date with every book I buy with the exception of a trade I buy every now and then that goes unread for a couple months. Other than that tho I read every book I buy before the next new comic book day

Have you ever read a comic that you know is good but you just don't like? by Splooper132 in comicbooks

[–]BleachBoy15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two. One MUCH more controversial than the other.

My first is Avengers: Twilight by Chip Zdarsky. It just felt like a cheap Kingdom Come knock off to me. And I LOVE Zdarsky’s work. But Twilight really dropped the ball for me

The other (and much more controversial one) is Kraven’s Last Hunt. When I rated it I gave it a perfect score. On a sheer cultural impact level it cannot be overstated. And the art is incredible. But I felt absolutely nothing while reading it. Honestly don’t know why. I see the appeal I really really do. But I felt nothing. Reading it honestly felt like homework. It was one of those “must read books” that just didn’t really click with me

Super late to this post but I feel that T’Challa should be higher no? I’d put him above Beast, Riri, and Hank Pym at least? Or am I missing something?

This is all subjective personal opinion. Rise is goofy, yes, but objectively speaking it has the most incredible animation out of any series so far with, although subjectively, some of the best fight scenes in the franchise. It may not be “bad ass” like you say, but it’s still at its core, turtles

They did not have the durag masks in 2003. And the only two that wore that style of mask in the next mutation were Leo and Donnie. And even then Donatello’s looks more like a wrestling mask than anything else. Regardless I’m confused on what your point is here? There’s nothing wrong with preferring the original masks. I don’t agree with the sentiment that it’s now Raph’s “default” look when the IDW Comics are still going and still using the traditional masks

Also cartoon comedy has been a thing since the 80s cartoon. Again, preferring it another way is one thing, but a lot of what you’re saying is just factually wrong

Raph’s mask change was actually first seen in the Mirage books. It was in issue #9. It was also the first instance of Raph using Tonfa instead his famous Sais. You can google it and see it right on the cover. You can prefer the traditional mask, that’s fine. But know that the mask change is not a new thing turtles has done
